Have you ever purchased a lipstick shade because you saw someone else wearing it and loved it only to find that it looks completely different on you?

This is because your natural lip color is visible through the lipstick. Neutralize your natural lip color by applying foundation or concealer to your lips prior to application.

    Color Correct Undereye

    www.spadelic.com

Your average concealer is no match for under-eye circles with a bluish cast caused by dilated blood vessels beneath thin under-eye skin.

Color-correct blemishes and imperfections by using the color opposite on the color wheel

Use an apricot or salmon shade concealer in a creamy formula to conceal under-eye circles with a bluish cast

The more concealer and foundation you apply to an angry blemish, the more attention you will call to it.

Use a silicone based primer to minimize the shadow that a raised blemish casts onto the skin

Pull out your handy pocket color wheel and choose a color correcting primer over blemish to conceal redness

Skip heavy foundation and apply a normal amount of foundation.

    DIY Body Scrub

    www.spadelic.com

Using an exfoliant on the body is just as important as facial exfoliants. Weekly application will remove dead skin cells and promote smoother, softer skin. Here is a recipe for one of my favorite DIY body scrubs:

Citrus Coffee Scrub Recipe3/4 finely ground coffee c finely ground sugar1tbs salt1/3 c grapeseed oil1 tsp ground cinnamon8 drops grapefruit essential oil8 drops orange essential oil4 drops of peppermint essential oil

Mix coffee, salt, and essential oils in a glass or ceramic bowl. Add almond oil slowly, stirring continuously, until mixture reaches the consistency of moist sand.

Insider tip: Any carrier oil can be substituted for grapeseed oil.
