On the evening of Sunday, January 13th, 2013 Jasper Steed posted on the Autism Society of REDACTED’s

Facebook page with his story of being “scammed” by PayPal and offered more information on his loss of

funds along with a suggestion that he may be asking people to donate more money to him to make up

for the costs of recovering what was taken by PayPal.

To summarize the following transcripts:

Jasper claims that PayPal has shut down his PayPal account and locked him out of $15,000. He

claims that starting a merchant account with a new service will require $1,500 and he is asking people to

donate money to help him take that step.

He claims to have started his online school in 2010, and states that he has 350,000 students.

He insists on talking about things on the phone instead of via text because he doesn’t trust

people. He says that he worries that information “could go somewhere else”. He also says that he

worries that REDACTED is a “spy” or “police”.

school funding service we offer and closed the paypal account and said they would not do any more

business with our company and any other products or services we offered and they froze the

money and then limited the account then asked us for personal documents and we gave it to them

and they closed our accounts and said they could not be lifted and they left us high and dry with no

money to pay for hosting our website or services and now we are looking for a new payment

processor and half of them are saying to start with them it cost us $1500 up front but see paypal

has all our money tied and now we have none

REDACTED: Can you give us some more information? What reason did they give for the account

freeze? How much was in the account, and I assume your organization has a bank account as

well as a PayPal fund, so are you working to coordinate the two? Are you just sharing this

information in general, or are you asking for help and, if so, what is it you are asking us to do?

Going back to the issue of his website, there are several troubling issues. One is the strange

writing style and lack of proper punctuation or grammar, which is not only within the articles and

writings, but almost identical in the “testimonials” supposedly written by clients and paying customers.

It may not be illegal to write up false testimonials but it does reduce the credibility of the writer. It’s

also odd that a nonprofit website / autism school is covered in links to for-pay services and item sales.

The FaceBook page is also awash in advertisements for items that he is selling.
