This would take place in your own town or nearby in a public place, such as a park or if a church is open to host visits. If you are interested, please contact Mandy Humphry @ 319.795.3714. We have been studying the book of Hebrews for nearly 7 months! I hope youve been enjoying it as much as I have been. Recently, we have been in He- brews chapter 12. One of the lessons we learned as we studied chapter 12 of Hebrews, is the difference between Trials and Gods discipline. The discipline of the Lord is A painful experience allowed by God to change my conduct and my characterA trial is a painful circumstance allowed by God to grow my con- duct and my character”. They seem similar. But there is one distinguishing difference between the twoand the difference is this: Gods discipline of you requires you to repent. But the two are similar in that there are lessons to be learned through the painful experience! The condition of our current world has led many to two questions: 1. Is Jesus is coming soon? The answer is: Its one day closer than it was Yester- day! I dont know when Jesus is coming back. But I trust Him when He says He will! 2. Are the events we are currently experiencing in our world the result of a sin cursed world (trial) or the collective discipline of the rebellious human race? The answer is: I dont know. But Im confident there are lessons to be learned and that God is using it for good! I also know that the circumstances that we are facing does not change my decision to follow Him and live for Him! May God continue to find us faithful through the painful experience being allowed and until He comes to take us home! CARE is seeking volunteers to help supervise visits

between foster children & their biological families.

This would take place in your own town or nearby in

a public place, such as a park or if a church is open

to host visits. Social workers in our area have large

case loads & need our help in order to make these

visits possible. Volunteers for this team will go

through a simple training & background check. If

you are interested, please contact Mandy Humphry

We have been studying the book of Hebrews for

nearly 7 months! I hope you’ve been enjoying it as

much as I have been. Recently, we have been in He-

brews chapter 12. One of the lessons we learned as

we studied chapter 12 of Hebrews, is the difference

between Trials and God’s discipline. The discipline of

the Lord is “A painful experience allowed by God to

change my conduct and my character” A trial is “a

painful circumstance allowed by God to grow my con-

duct and my character”. They seem similar. But there

is one distinguishing difference between the two…and

the difference is this: God’s discipline of you requires

you to repent. But the two are similar in that there are

lessons to be learned through the painful experience!

The condition of our current world has led many to

two questions:

1. Is Jesus is coming soon?

The answer is: It’s one day closer than it was Yester-

day! I don’t know when Jesus is coming back. But I

trust Him when He says He will!

2. Are the events we are currently experiencing in

our world the result of a sin cursed world (trial) or the

collective discipline of the rebellious human race?

The answer is: I don’t know. But I’m confident there

are lessons to be learned and that God is using it for

good! I also know that the circumstances that we are

facing does not change my decision to follow Him and

live for Him! May God continue to find us faithful

through the painful experience being allowed and until

He comes to take us home!

Mark
