    Prayer Shawl Ministry

Do you knit, crochet or weave? Would you like to use your talent to serve and bless your church family? Then come learn about the Prayer Shawl

    Ministry!

We meet the first Wednesday of each month, 12:00-1:30 in the Quilting

Room. All skill levels are welcome.

February is American Heart Month! A month devoted to Heart Health and a good time to think about how we take care of our hearts. Each Sunday in

February @11:30 following worship, mem-bers of the Health Ministry will be available for Blood Pressure Checks OR home monitor accuracy checks. A blood pressure check will take about 5 minutes. A home monitor check will take 10-15 minutes. Blood pres-sure checks are not just for Senior Citizens!

Also, as a part of American Heart Month, CPR/First Aid Training will be offered on Saturday, February 22, 9am-4pm. This training will be conducted by AJ Chitwood, Certified Trainer and is offered to anyone wanting a first time certification or to recer-tify. It is strongly recommended for those who serve in the Children's Ministry or the Youth Ministry. Sign-ups begin on February 2nd. A light lunch will be provided.

Tip #2 A healthy diet makes a difference. Consider an eating plan option like the DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hy-pertension), which is free and scientifically proven to lower high blood pressure and improve cholesterol levels. An overview and starting plan are available in the lobby . Tip #3 Stop smoking, even if you smoke only occasionally. Quitting can be benefi-cial to your overall health, even if you’ve smoked for years. Set a quit date and let those close to you know. If you’ve tried quitting in the past, consider what helped and what made it harder. You can find re-sources in the lobby and connect with a trained counselor at 1-800-QUIT-NOW or smokefree.gov.

    May

    15-16

The theme this year is Heaven, and the dates are May 15 and 16. It is

our goal to get the men of Westside Christian Church and area churches super excited about Heaven and

have a deep desire to see Jesus face to face.

If we could only realize just a fraction of how wonder-ful, exciting, breathtaking, marvelous, (you insert your own adjective here---words just cannot ade-

quately describe Heaven), we would not cling to this broken world so tightly.

Our guest speaker Friday night will get things kick started because he has been there. That’s right! Our special guest speaker has had a near-death experi-ence and visited heaven. Mark your calendars. You

do not want to miss this! Only $30 for everything!

    WE NEED

    TO PAINT!!

Our new floor-ing for the Fel-lowship Hall, the kitchen

    and the hall-ways will be

    laid on Febru-ary 24th

through the 28th. The Fel-lowship Hall is

done being painted, but we need to paint the hallway before the floor-ing is put down. Can you help? We will be painting the week of Febru-ary 17-21st. Get with Rick or Ja-son to let us know if you can help.

    THANKS!
