Paris-Roubaix est la reine des classiques grâce à ses secteurs pavés mais imaginez-vous une seule seconde un Paris-Roubaix sans pavés, inconcevable ! Alors que Paris-Roubaix ne comptait plus qu’une vingtaine de kilomètres pavés dans les années 1970, Jean Claude Vallaeys a fondé l’association afin de sauvegarder ce patrimoine en perdition. Notre mission : rechercher de nouveaux secteurs pavés et restaurer les plus abîmés. En symbole à ce renouveau, l’association offre depuis 1977, le désormais mythique pavé sur socle à chaque vainqueur.
Paris-Roubaix est « un Monument du cyclisme », dont il faut entretenir la mémoire, la mémoire de tous ces héros qui, un jour, ont décidé de prendre part à l’Enfer du Nord. Nous sommes ainsi présents sur de nombreuses manifestations, tout au long de l’année, parfois même à l’étranger. A l’heure actuelle nous travaillons ardemment à la création d’un véritable musée dédié à Paris-Roubaix, à deux pas des douches mythiques.Paris-Roubaix est une légende vivante et nous emploierons toute notre énergie à la faire vivre encore et encore !
Because Paris-Roubaix is « Cycling monument » we have to maintain it. This happens by working on sections all year long. It also happens because of a duty to remember, the memory of all those heroes who decided, on a given day, to Start “the Hell of the North”. Paris-Roubaix is a living legend and we fight to see it continue again and again. The need to maintain Paris-Roubaix comes to mind several times a year, sometimes even in foreign countries. Our hope is to develop a museum dedicated to Paris-Roubaix just a step from the mythical showers.
Paris-Roubaix is the Queen of the Classics thanks to its cobblestone sections. But, imagine for a second, a Par is-Roubaix wi thout the cobblestones - Inconceivable ! Since the 1970s, Paris-Roubaix has had no more than about 20 k i lometers o f cobb les tones . Therefore, Jean Claude Vallaeys formed an association to protect this heritage which is being lost. Its mission, to look for new cobblestone sections and restore the most damaged. As a symbol of this revival, the association offers, since 1977, the now mythical Cobblestone Trophy.
De koningin van de klassiekers dankt haar bekendheid aan de kasseistroken. Een Parijs-Roubaix zonder kasseien is simpelweg ondenkbaar ! Toen de wedstrijd in de jaren '70 nog slechts een twintigtal stroken telde, heeft Jean Claude Vallaeys een vereniging opgericht om dit erfgoed te beschermen. Onze taak is het vinden van nieuwe kasseistroken en het restaureren van de stroken die er slecht aan toe zijn. Als symbool van deze herrijzenis schenkt onze vereniging sinds 1977 elk jaar aan de winnaar de inmiddels mythisch geworden kasseitrofee.
Parijs-Roubaix is een zogeheten wielermonument waarvan we de geschiedenis levend moeten houden. We bewaren de herinnering van alle helden die ooit deel hebben genomen aan de Helleklassieker. Daarom zijn we het hele jaar door aanwezig bij veel evenementen in binnen- en buitenland. Momenteel werken we aan de oprichting van een heus Parijs-Roubaix-museum, op een steenworp afstand van de befaamde douches aan de aankomst.Parijs-Roubaix is een levende legende en wij doen er absoluut alles aan om die te laten schitteren.
