Thirty-Fouth Sunday in Ordinary Time| Trigésimo Cuarto Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for

the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” -Mark 10:14 If you have been to a Saturday evening mass in the past few

weeks, you may have noticed the front of the pews filled with

teenagers. These are the teens on the journey to their

Confirmation in April of 2018. Jesus continually welcomes

children to Himself in the Gospels, telling the adults that they

should strive to be more like the children and I ask that you do

the same to the youth here at St. Peter’s Parish. These teens are

the future of the church– future priests, nuns, brothers,

husbands, wives, mothers, and fathers– and we can all learn so

much from them. In our preparation classes, the teens have

found a new interest in their faith: asking question after

question, seeking to learn and understand. Jesus suggested that

we all be like children in faith, in awe and wonder of the great

works of God. We should all take the time to pause, reflect, and

seek to learn and understand more about the faith we profess.

They also bring so much joy to the parish. We have so much

fun each time we join for class, mass, and a meal. Perhaps we

should all try to seek more of the child-like joy that they have

found in the Catholic faith.

If you haven’t yet, please join the teens in the Saturday vigil

mass. Come welcome them into community and see the

wonderful gifts that they bring each and every week. After

mass, all teens are welcome to join us for Youth Group from

7pm to 9pm.

semanas, es posible que haya notado el frente de los bancos

llenos de adolescentes. Estos son los adolescentes en el camino a su Confirmación en Abril del 2018. Jesús continuamente da

la bienvenida a los niños a sí mismo en los Evangelios,

diciéndoles a los adultos que deben esforzarse por ser más como los niños y les pido que hagan lo mismo con los jóvenes

aquí. en la Parroquia de San Pedro. Estos adolescentes son el futuro de la iglesia: futuros sacerdotes, monjas, hermanos,

esposos, esposas, madres y padres, y todos podemos aprender

mucho de ellos. En nuestras clases de preparación, los adolescentes han encontrado un nuevo interés en su fé: hacer

preguntas tras preguntas, buscar aprender y comprender. Jesús

sugirió que todos seamos como niños en la fé, maravillados y asombrados de las grandes obras de Dios. Todos deberíamos

tomarnos el tiempo para hacer una pausa, reflexionar y buscar

aprender y comprender más acerca de la fe que profesamos.

También traen tanta alegría a la parroquia. Nos divertimos

mucho cada vez que nos unimos para clase, misa y una comida. Tal vez todos deberíamos tratar de buscar más de la alegría

infantil que han encontrado en la fé católica. Si aún no lo has hecho, únete a los adolescentes en la misa de

vigilia del sábado. Ven a darles la bienvenida a la comunidad y

ver los maravillosos regalos que traen cada semana. Después de la misa, todos los adolescentes pueden unirse a nosotros

para el Grupo de Jóvenes de 7pm a 9pm.

canned corn, Hamburger Helper meals, and cranberry sauce.

Now is the time to start thinking of honoring a family

member or someone special to you with our Christmas

Poinsettias that we place on the Altar and around the church

each year. Soon on the back of the church we will start ac-

cepting your donations.

New Sacred Art in our church sanctuary

Nuevo arte sagrado en nuestro santuario de la iglesia

To continue to make our church interior an inspiring place of worship, new sacred art will soon be added. In the sanctuary, a beautiful wood-carved image of Our Lady of Guadalupe and one of St. Joseph will be placed on

either side of the main crucifix. Para continuar haciendo del interior de nuestra iglesia un lugar de

adoración inspirador, pronto se agregará nuevo arte sagrado. En el santuario, una hermosa imagen tallada en madera de Nuestra Señora de

The clear glass of the tall window on the south side of the sanctuary will be replaced with colorful stained glass, highlighting the cross at the center of the window frame.

Parishioners who wished to be sponsors, have already contributed funds for the images of Mary and St. Joseph.

All parishioners are invited to assist with the cost of the stained-glass window - perhaps contributing in honor of a family member whose name will then be included on a plaque next to the window.

Christ the King:

Today as we celebrate Christ the King, may

we open the door of our heart so wide that we

may listen to the voice of Jesus calling us to help

build his kingdom here on earth.

This month, through your gifts, the Society of

St. Vincent de Paul was able to bring God’s

kingdom of love and mercy to families, providing

food, utility, rent and other bills. God Bless You!

Festividad de Cristo Rey

Hoy, cuando celebramos a Cristo Rey, escuchamos a

Jesús decir: "... todo lo que hiciste por uno de los más

pequeños de mis hermanos y hermanas, lo hiciste por

mí".

Sabiendo que encontramos el rostro de Cristo en los
