It has been my privilege and an honor to serve the Chamber of the Palm Beaches as an Ambassador. January 2009 started my role as an ambassador, and needless to say my time has been spent wisely. I have had countless opportunities to network and connect with an extraordinary amount of local companies and chamber members. Attending events is always the most effective way to meet with many friendly faces and exceptional people. The Chamber of the Palm Beaches is truly the “best of the best” of the area chambers!

June July“Upon joining the chamber a few years ago, it has enhanced our business by establishing relationships in many business fields. The chamber offers many networking events, while promoting teamwork though-out the year.”

AugustBeing a member of the Ambassador Committee of the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches has allowed me to build relationships and increase support for my non-profit, Seagull Industries for the Disabled, Inc. The Chamber is a dynamic organization, offering many and varied opportunities to meet a wide range of business people. Seagull is proud to be their 2010 Non-Profit of the Year, and I am proud to represent the Chamber as an Ambassador.

The Chamber of the Palm Beaches is a dynamic organization that has allowed me to connect with Business Individuals in and around the Palm Beach Community. As a representative of Connections for Business, we pride ourselves on being an IT resource for the community, which in a way defines the word ambassador. I have seen the value of learning about each business from the many different kinds of events the Chamber has. We can all add value to each other when we sit down and see where it is. It may simply be, to be an encouragement.

BowWowGoodTimeatCityPlaceIt was four paws up at the Chamber’s Yappy Hour at CityPlace. Canines in all shapes and sizes had a howling good time in the Plaza. A large grass area, which served as the Puppy Port-A-Lets, was donated by The Brickman Group. The event was co-sponsored by Keiser University and Woof Gang Bakery, Palm Beach.

Tails were wagging for the contests, when dogs in four categories were given the chance to Sit and Stay in their Halloween costumes on the CityPlace stage. Everyone was drooling with anticipation when the winners were announced - Most Original: Buster Rhymes the Shitzu, who performed inside a Venetian gondola, parent K.K. Marmon; Murk the Pit Bull who was dressed as a skeleton, parent Lissette Diaz; Best Resemblance to Person: Lewie the Mixed Breed and 5 year-old Regan Baker, dressed as pirates; Best In Show: Shitzu Gang, a group of 6 dogs dressed in various costumes, parent, Mary Perez. They were all awarded gift bags from Woof Gang Bakery, Palm Beach.

The contests were followed by a Treat Hunt in which hundreds of plastic eggs were hidden throughout CityPlace filled with treats for dogs and humans.

“Being part of the 2010 West Palm Beach Leadership class was an overwhelming erudition of all that our community has to offer. I had the opportunity to meet the people who genuinely care about our community’s future. The historic background was impressive and I truly have a new heart felt appreciation for West Palm Beach. I have a new network of professionals from many different industries. I now have resources to assist my organization with doing its part in serving the community as well as to help West Palm Beach develop as the destination of choice for future businesses. I recommend this class to any professional in the community whether a native of West Palm Beach or a new resident seeking integration into the business community. ”
