NEWS FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Robyn Brooks House Colour Walk
We had our first house colour walk today. We will be walking
again next week on Friday. Students are allowed to wear their
HOUSE colours on this day. It is NOT a casual dress day. Samoan Day
Cooper, Hope, Hunter and Ruben did an outstanding job
planning and delivering their Leaders of Evolution project. Last
Friday our school were treated to Samoan dancing, food and
artefacts. Thank you kindly to
the Samoan dancers and
Chaffey Secondary. The ISPS
students were then involved
in learning coordinated by
the LoE group throughout
the day. Thanks to all the ISPS community for donating
stationery that Cooper and Hope will take to Samoa next year
and pass onto the Samoan schools. Colour Run
On December 6th, Hanna, Natalie and Mikayla will be holding a colour run. A
colour run is where you have to run through an obstacle course and try to get
squirted by colourful, skin-friendly dye. On the day you are required to wear a
white t-shirt and old pants. We are fundraising for Kitty’s Crib and the school.
A huge thanks to all those families who have created an online profile for their
child and started the fundraising journey. Please be aware that there is no
pressure from Irymple South that you must participate in the fundraising for this
Leaders of Evolution project. The amount of money raised by students is
completely optional. All of the students will still be able to be involved in the
Colour Run in December, whether they raise $0 or $1000.
On Friday October 11th all students received a sponsorship form and letter, the
more money you put in, the bigger the prize!
Key dates are:
October 11th – sponsorship forms and letter went home
November 15th – all money due back (NO money to be deposited into the school‘s account)
November 15th – November 20th – order prizes. All prizes must be finalised online by November
20th. Hats
All children are required to wear school hats in the yard at all times from now on. If a student
does not have a hat they must sit under the shade outside their class door or sit under the shade
sails in the eating area. Our school actively supports Sunsmart policies. School hats are available
to purchase at Laser Signs and Print.
commencing Friday 8th November

ISPS Uniform List amended
On behalf of School Council I approached
Laser Signs & Prints asking for an appraisal of
the cost of the school dress.
They have agreed to reduce the cost of the
dress by $10 to $68 to help make it more
affordable for all families. Our school dress
fabric is a good quality fabric. Please find a
new price list and order form attached and
orders can also be made online. House Sports Shirts
If you would like to order a House Shirt for 2020,
now is the time to do it!
Please note these can not be bought off the shelf in the store, they are purely an online
order.
Orders can be placed until Sunday 1st
December for the arrival to occur during the
first three weeks of next year. Once again,
please be aware that these are online orders
only and are the same sizing as the school polo
shirts.
Curriculum Days
We have one more student free day in Term 4.
Please mark this in your calendar. Students are
not required on Monday 9th December. School Council
The next meeting of the School Council is on
Wednesday 27th November. RI Breakup
The RI break up is on Monday 2nd December.
The break up will take place in the Library after
school. Parents, grandparents and other family
are invited to attend. Please bring a plate of
food to share. Fees
A reminder that any outstanding school fees
are now due. If you have any outstanding
amounts you will receive a statement via email.
Payment can be made at the Office or by
direct depositing money into the following
account with your child’s name as the
reference or the reference number on the
statement;

Lids 4 Kids
We are collecting plastic bottle caps that will
be transformed into prosthetics. There is a
collection bin at the Office. All lids need to be
washed before putting in the bin.
Choir
On Tuesday, 12th November at 10am, our
Christmas Choir, made up of students from
grades 4-6, will be performing at Kmart for the
launch of the Kmart Wishing Tree. A permission
note has been sent to those students in the
choir on Xuno. Feel free to pop down and
watch our students perform. Prep Excursion
The Preps had a magnificent day last
Wednesday on their excursion. They started off
with a visit to Benetook Farms where they went
through the maze, looked at the chooks and
picked strawberries. They then travelled to the
Arts Centre to watch The Junior Lion King. After
a short stroll they arrived at Jaycee park for
lunch and a play. The students headed back to
school for some activities with Ready Steady
Go, Bunnings and biscuit decorating. The
students had pizza and ice cream for dinner. A
collage of photos can be found further in the
newsletter. Prep 2020 Transition
The first Transition Day for our 2020 Preps will
betake place next Tuesday. The day will start at
9:15am and finish at 12:30pm. Please make sure
that your child has a named bag, packed
snack, drink bottle and hat. The second hand
uniform stall will be ‘open’. You can purchase
second hand uniform for a gold coin donation. Grade 5 & 6 Roses Gap Camp
Next Wednesday the Grade 5 & 6 students will
head to Roses Gap for three days of fun and
adventure. Please make sure that you have
paid for this invaluable experience! Eggs
Our chooks have been extremely busy laying
eggs. If you wish to purchase some, they are
available from the office for $3.00 dozen.

INTERSCHOOL SPORT
On Wednesday most year 5/6 boys went to play T20 at Aerodrome Ovals. We
had a great day and enjoyed playing some competitive cricket. Our most
successful team was team 1.
We played 3 round robin games to start the day. We played against St Joe’s
Red Cliffs, Irymple South 2 and Irymple. We won all of those games
comfortably.
That meant that we made it to the grand final and we played against Nichols
Point. We won comfortably, so that means where going to the next stage. We
all played well as a team and all improved throughout the day. Thanks to
Tyler’s dad, Chris, for coaching us.

On Wednesday, 9 girls got to play T20 cricket at the aerodrome ovals. We
played 4 games in total. Our first was against Nichols Point team 2, we easily
won with great sportsmanship and fielding. Our second game was played
against Red Cliffs East which we also won. Then we played ISPS team 4 which
was a close enjoyable game, meaning both teams showed great teamwork
and collaboration. Thanks to Addison with her last minute break through, we
won and were entered into the finals against Nichols Point Team 1. After
hardcore dancing and heavy wind, our team
pushed through with our best performance and
support, And we ended up winning with tight
scores! The best bowlers were, Elana and
Addison, best fielders were Rhiannon and
Emma Norris. And best batters were Maia,
Rhiannon and Dancia. We will now be
progressing to the next round in Swan Hill!
Thanks to Mr Allen for helping us improve
throughout the day, and although you didn’t
get a singing reward, your vocals certainly
helped us on a high note!

Last Friday 8 grade 5 & 6 girls went to Swan Hill to play regional
basketball. We played 4 games, we won two and lost two. We
won against Strathfieldsaye and Campbellbrook. We all played
great and in the end we all improved as a team. Unfortunately we

The Rainbow Serpent
Today the Prep students enjoyed a
session of Storytelling and Art with
Simone Spencer. Simone read them the
story of the ‘Rainbow Serpent’. The
Preps then decorated a part of the
serpent that Simone had drawn. We
can’t wait to see the finished
collaborative piece.

House Colour Walk
For every Friday in November (starting on the
8th) we would love to see everyone dress in
their house colours. Starting at 8:30 in the
morning, we will be walking laps of the Cross
Country track and recording the laps. Family
members are welcome to join in the walk to collect points for their House too! What a
great way for those students who purchased a House Shirt to get some wear. These will
still be normal school days, with normal learning but just a twist with our House Colours.

The School Camp program, which occurs for all year levels in Term 4, is not
included in the Parent Payment. All costs will be kept to a minimum and
may change.
