HONDA SCORES HIGHEST IN EUROPEAN CAR RELIABILITY CONSUMER SURVEY

NEW CIVIC HATCHBACK PROTOTYPE

The study by the Organisation of Consumers and Users (OCU) saw Honda get a reliability rating of 93/100 and a further 79% said they would recommend a Honda vehicle. It was

also confirmed that the most heavily weighted factors consumers take into account when purchasing a car are price, fuel consumption, family needs and reliability.

To asses Reliability, the OCU asked more than 30,000 drivers if they had any breakdowns in the past year and created an index to compare the likelihood of a breakdown. The results of the survey highlighted the importance of quality commitments Honda has made to its customers and the benefit of receiving the peace of mind that their cars are among the least likely to experience breakdowns. The highest rated vehicle in the survey was the Honda Jazz 1.4.

A European survey of more than 30,000 drivers has revealed that Honda is seen as the most reliable car brand.

The Civic Hatchback Prototype received its global premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in March. The new model is scheduled for European launch in early 2017 and the show gave an insight into the exterior design. It is planned that the vehicle will be produced at Honda UK Manufacturing (HUM) and then exported to global markets including the US.

TEST DRIVE REVIEW ON THE ALL-NEW NP300 NAVARA

The UK’s No.1 Leasing Website; www.ContractHireAndLeasing.com recently reviewed the all-new NP300 Navara and they were very impressed. Here’s an overview of their review:

Styling: The boxy shape of the old Navara has been rounded off, and a deluge of chrome gives a more driver-friendly, premium look. At 6ft1in tall and 6ft wide, the Navara is a match for its Mitsubishi-badged rival for sheer presence.Equipment: 187bhp engine, bigger alloys, satellite navigation, heated seats and leather upholstery, among other accoutrements.Running Costs: Its 2.3-litre diesel is 200cc smaller than its predecessor but just as powerful and up to 24% more efficient. Lease rates are incredibly competitive, average three-year business deals costing around £260 a month compared to the £283 an L200 would set you back.On the road: Its great in all conditions, with four-wheel drive, 22cm of ground clearance and a 60cm maximum wading depth. Verdict: With such an impressive combination of equipment, efficiency and capability, there’s no doubt that this is one of the best pick-ups you can lease. We suspect it might even be the best.

Nissan had some interesting news at the recent Geneva Motor Show. The manufacturer confirmed that the Autonomous Drive ‘Piloted Drive 1.0’ will feature on the 2017 Qashqai. They also introduced Premium Concept Crossovers, a European Debut for the IDS Concept and their idea for Fuel Stations of the future after teaming up with renowned architects Foster + Partners. The Geneva Motor Show also marks Nissan recording its sixth consecutive year of growth and best-ever sales in Europe selling 715,623 units by the end of 2015.

March marked an important milestone for the Nissan Qashqai, after the Sunderland plant has now built more Qashqais than any other car in its three decades of manufacturing in Europe.

Today a new Qashqai is built every 62 seconds, or 58 per hour at the Sunderland site. After a string of awards, demand for the Nissan Qashqai shows no signs of slowing down. In September 2015, the second-generation model became the fastest ever UK-built vehicle to smash the half-million mark. One award claimed by the Qashqai is; WhatCar? Car of the Year- Best Small SUV for the third year running, what an achievement for the crossover!

SUCCESS FOR MAZDA AT THE UK CAR OF THE YEAR AWARDSThe MX-5’s success has continued after taking triple honours in the 2016 UK Car of the Year Awards, including claiming the overall Car of the Year accolade. The awards were judged by 27 of Britain’s leading automotive journalists with road tests carried out on British roads.

The Car of the Year title adds to the MX-5’s already impressive trophy cabinet which

includes 2016 What Car Awards Best Convertible, 2015 Auto Express Awards Best Roadster and 2015 Scottish Car of the Year Best Drop Top.

So why is it an award winner? Well the new vehicle has maintained the driver-focused ethos that lead to the MX-5 being the best-selling two-seater sports car of all time. It continues the characteristics of being agile, fun and engaging, whilst at the same time meeting ever-increasing safety and efficiency requirements alongside improved refinement.

Commenting on the MX-5, UK Car of the Year judge John Challen said “With the latest MX-5, Mazda has created the perfect roadster. A lightweight engaging, simplistic and even practical vehicle, which is an absolute pleasure to drive. Fellow judge Mat Joy added, “27 years on and still no-one has come

SUCCESS FOR MAZDA AT THE UK CAR OF THE YEAR AWARDS

The Mazda CX-3 has won Best Compact SUV at the Fleet News Awards, it was chosen by a panel of experts including leading motoring journalists, industry buyers and residual specialists. Stephen Briers, editior-in-chief of Fleet News, said “The Mazda CX-3 is a solid all-rounder. It’s stylish and fun to drive, and combines those attributes with strong residuals and competitive running costs.”close to rivalling what is seemingly a straight forward recipe.

Light, compact and simple, driving the MX-5 makes you wonder why anyone would consider anything else. All sports cars should drive like this.” While Paul Hudson succinctly commented, “the MX-5 is simply right for most people, most of the time.”

There was more success for Mazda at the awards, with the all-new Mazda2 being victorious in the hotly contested Best Supermini category. It received the award after being hugely fun to drive, but not at the expense of affordable running costs or practicality.
