MINIBALL PRIZGIVING – Monday 15 September Prizegiving will be held at the Memorial Stadium at 3.30pm. We would like all teams to be present. Each team will receive a goodie bag. Certificates and trophies will be handed out. A big thanks to all our coaches and parents for helping on the bench. RIDING FOR THE DISABLED On Friday September 5 Room 8 are selling gingerbread horses for $2.00 to support Riding for the Disabled. They will be sold at lunchtime. HEADLICE PROBLEM!

We have a continuing head-lice problem! Several parents have contacted us saying that although they have regularly treated their children for head-lice, children are becoming re-infected shortly after being clear. Apparently there are some students who have been saying to their friends that they have head-lice but have not been treated. PLEASE CHECK YOUR

CHILDREN’S HAIR REGULARLY AND TREAT IF NECESSARY.

HOME & SCHOOL FATHER’S DAY RAFFLE

Please remember to return your raffle cards and money to school this Wednesday 3rd of September. The prize Wheelbarrow and goodies can be viewed at the school office. Unreturned raffle cards will not be able to go into the draw. The raffle will be

drawn Friday 5th September under Police supervision. Any unsold raffle cards or part cards can be returned to school ASAP to be sold at New World supermarket tomorrow, Tuesday, through out the day.

MOSGIEL

In Mosgiel lush green trees cover the land Clean and green is the way it grows. Saddle Hill towers above Taieri River weaves its way through And the Mosgiel sign shines like stars Taieri Plains go for miles With cows and sheep that roam the land A great place to be.

Keegan Mitchell -Year 6

OUR PLACE Light arcs over the Maungatuas As the sun sets Dew glistens on the lush green grass The Taieri River weaves its way past the Taieri Plains Out to sea Waves crash against the sandy shore at Brighton Beach Sun beats down on people sunbathing Driving past the great railway station Sweet smells drift from Cadburys, making your mouth water Getting ready for the Jaffa Race on the world’s steepest street That’s our place. Destiny Crawford -Year 5

DOWN SOUTH

Through the Taieri Plains then out to Outram and past The cattle chew on their lush green grass From uni to Brighton Beach Where children play in the crashing waves Saddle Hill lies silently towering over us Way over to Middlemarch – the land of rocks Over the Maungatuas Then past the Rock ‘n Pillars Taieri Mouth to St Clair Beach The sand sinks beneath my feet There’s lots of places to see down south And it’s absolutely free.

Grace Cotter – Year 6

Thank you to our referees Lily Smart,

Miss Lewis and Shiana Varga.
