GARDEN PROGRESS Yesterday Mr Dayman worked on concreting the pavers in to the new garden bed. He was ably assisted by Year 4 student William who shovelled the concrete from the wheelbarrow to the edge of the pavers. Looking good, fellas! Next step is the bird bath… then the plants, then mulching. A fair bit of work still to come but worth it!
Along with today’s
newsletter is a Fee Schedule out-lining next year’s fee structure, plus predetermined discounts and some supporting information. Blue fee commitment forms will be sent out in the coming weeks. If you have any queries about finances or payments please let us know.
2020 FEES
SMART COOKIES (OR CAKES?)
Mrs Mudd’s 9/10 English class were tasked with making a scale model of London’s Globe Theatre, considered the home of Shakespeare. One group obtained blueprints of the tudor-style building and went about constructing it in 3D with cardboard, while these clever students [below L-R: Emilie, Caitlyn, Hannah & Jessica] thought it easier (and more effective) to simply bake it, shape it, ice it and then… eat it! ☺ This is just the kind of super creative thinking we love to see (and taste…)!
CAROLS BY THE RIVER
Our Years 2—6 students have been invited to sing at this event, 7pm on Sunday 8th December at the Berri river-front. A note went home on Monday with details and a reply slip.
Please respond by next Friday re attendance.
Thank you to those families who attended our Junior Primary and/or Secondary Info Nights
earlier this week. We appreciate your time to come and hear what’s happening, how things are going to work and how any changes impact your child. If you would like any info from those nights that you missed, please ask. The Middle School (Years 7-9) & Secondary School (Years 10+) handbooks containing subject selections are also now available; Mr Schumann will be going through these individually with students next week.
to Year 10 student Gemma Petty-Zimmermann who is a FINALIST in the 2019 Riverland and Mallee Vocational Awards. Gemma has been studying a Certificate III in Business Admin-istration with the traineeship component completed in our office with Mrs Prider.
The Awards are a project of the Rotary Club of Berri and recognise apprentices and trainees in their efforts to gain vocational skills and nationally-recognised qualifications.
Gemma has an interview in the coming weeks to help the selection panel determine a winner ahead of the awards dinner in February 2020.

Last week turned out to be a very special week.
At
Fol
low
Jes
us we were talking about heaven.
I had a box full of things to rem
ind us what heaven
may be like. A torch, because the glory of God will shine, tissues, as there will be no
more tears, Panadol, for there will be no more pain, and death notices because
there will be no more death! Even while doing PE with the Year 7/8 class we talked
about what would happen if there was no heaven. Sad to say that would be the end
but all we have to do is believe in Jesus and confess Him as our Saviour to make
sure we spend eternity in heaven with Him! Even at the Special School I had a
young student say he had thought that when you die that was the end. I was so
privileged to tell him about heaven and give him hope. This is why we work at a
Christian school.
This week we are looking at parable of the lost sheep. I remem
ber my son being
lost; I found him asleep and woke him and asked if he was lost? He looked at me as
if to say, “Lost? But you are here!” We too can always know that Jesus is right with
us. Are you lost? Ask Jesus to come into your heart.
Last week the 7/8 class took chapel and did a great job. We look forward to Years
9/10 leading out tomorrow and next week the 5/6 class are in charge. Join us!
