- Basic SW Installation
Copy Protection• Nemo Outdoor uses either software or hardware
protection. (Indoor and Outdoor measurement are restricted by dongle options)
• Various available options are configured with each copy protection module.
Nemo Outdoor/Indoor Installation
Installation:
• You need to have local Administrator rights to install Nemo Outdoor
• Run the Nemo Outdoor setup.exe file and follow the instructions. Current Nemo Outdoor SW is 4.20.73 Check the latest versions of Nemo software from our web pages at (www.nemotechnologies.com) Valid to users with Technical Support Agreement only.
• Install DKU 2 cable driver.
• Restart laptop
HARDWARE SETUP
Testing Concept – Voice Call
• The voice testing environment consists of
– Nemo Outdoor compatible test measurement mobiles
– Laptop/Tablet PC with Nemo Outdoor installed
– Necessary connecting cables
– GPS receiver for Outdoor measurement
– (optional) fast frequency scanner.
Testing Concept – PS Data Call
• The PS data testing environment consists of Nemo Outdoor Application Server(e.g. FTP server, HTTP server, POP3 server, SMTP server, or WAP server)
Nemo Outdoor Measurement Configuration
• Nemo Outdoor supports manual and automated mode.
• Manual mode is based on the user establishing a data transfer connection or making voice calls.
- This mode is useful, when user wants to make a single continuous data transfer session or a voice call to monitor the resource allocation and cell reselection performance.
- This mode requires the user to control phones with Nemo Outdoor. The user should NOT use the mobile keyboard to establish voice calls or data calls.
• Automated mode is based on scripts that establish data transfer connections or voice calls on behalf of the user and can repeat the same or different sessions for a defined period of time. Scripts can be saved and edited. Script files can be, quickly and easily built with the Script Editor.
Manual / Automated Mode
Introduction to Graphical User Interface
Device Info:• ( )view disp parameters• ( )define displayed parameters• ( )configure notifications• ( )control phone• ( )configure measurement parameters
Device InfoConfiguration:
Measurement Properties
• Measurement properties for Voice Calls, Data calls etc. Need to be defined before the actual measurement
• Information on this tab should be filled in when doing Manual Measurement. (Press “Properties”)
• Voice Number defines the phone number to which voice calls will be made.
• Data Number defines the phone number for data calls, user name and password for service, etc.
• PDP Context Properties defines used APN for Packet data connection
• Data Protocol defines whether FTP or UDP is used for data transfer
• ICMP Ping Properties defines Ping settings, like Ping address and size of Ping data
Manual Measurement Configuration
Manual Measurement Control
• Measurement can be done from Mobile’s Control Panel or from Measurement menu by selecting the appropriate mobile
Automatic Measurement
• Measurements can be automatically repeated by predefined number of times
• Voice calls, data calls, attach, PDP activation, FTP, Web browsing, SMS, MMS, launch of external application, Ping sessions, etc. can be included in automatic measurement sequence
• Add / Modify / Delete / Move up / Move down / Append script / Repeat script value/ New /Open / Save / Save As...
• Script Editor/ Add / Voice Call• Voice Call Properties
– Number defines the number to be called
– Call Duration determines the time that the call lasts in seconds
– Call Attempt Timeout value determines the maximum duration of the call attempt. After that, the call attempt is considered to be failed.
Voice Call Script Configuration
• Access Point Name defines the APN used
• User Name/Password etc. Depend on operator’s settings
PS Script Configuration
Application Testing
• Host Name: IP address of the FTP server used.
• Username: username for the FTP server.
• Password: password for the FTP server.
• Passive Mode: Some firewalls may be configured to refuse any incoming connection requests, and in that case the data transfer would fail. With passive mode, the client always opens those new connections so the firewall does not block the connection.
• Direction: Receive – downloading; Send – uploading
• Remote File: File @ FTP Server
• Local File: File @ Testing laptop
PS Script Configuration
• URL: IP address of the test file that will be downloaded. For example, 203.125.58.120/1000kb.htm
• Local File: File @ Testing laptop
PS Script Configuration
• Editing PS Script
– Ping Test
– The ICMP (Internet Control Message Protocol) Ping functionality allows you to perform ping measurements simultaneously with FTP testing and data transfers
Script Configuration
Script Enhancements
• Possibility to synchronize scripts repeats between devices for benchmarking measurements.
• Improved wait function allows waiting for notifications during script measurements.
• Option to use measurement settings configured for manual testing during script measurements.
•By clicking the Notifications sheet, you can access the Notifications dialog box
•Select the Events that you would like to be notified of and also select whether the notification will be a textual note in the Output window, a sound (.wav file), or a bitmap
•Own notifications can be created for different situations, like bad quality example below, in Configuration tool
Event Trigger Notifications
User Defined Event Trigger Configuration I
• Static triggers
• User configurable event trigger
• Static triggers are made available in Nemo Outdoor by default and can collect statistics.
User Defined Event Trigger Configuration II
• Bitmap image Audio Wave Notification
• Event bitmap displayed in line graph
• (1.) Textual Notification displayed in the Output window
Event Trigger Configuration
• Event bitmap displayed in map window
• (2.) Sound Notification

Windows: Graphs
Line Graphs allow the user to accurately observe the measurement information.
• zoom• thresholds• scale• selectable parameters & values• selectable layers & values• average value presentation• displaying events & notifications
Workspace and Hardware Configuration
• By saving the workspace, different views can be saved to a .wor file. The following
views are saved to the file:
• Device Information Window views
• Grid and Graph views
• Color Set and Parameter selected in the Map Window (Map layers must be saved
to MapInfo .gst file)
• By saving the hardware configuration file, the information related to device(s) is
saved to the .hwc file:
• All information defined in the Measurement Properties Window

Nemo Outdoor and MS BTS File
Multiple Real-time Route Coloring
• A line from the test vehicle to the serving and neighboring BTS can be drawn.
• New multi route feature allows users to compare easily measurements from different terminals on the same map or to correlate different parameters from the same terminal.
