Pause!
One simple solution for all this would be the ―PAUSE‖.
Pause like the pause button in your VCD/DVD player.

“Don’t put the key to your happiness in someone else’s pocket. See
the opportunity that is hidden in the difficulty. The secret of
success in life lies in keeping the head above the storms of the
heart. Be a master of all situations. Operate from strength. Be
strong, be bold, refuse to be unhappy. One today is worth two
tomorrows. So live in the present and utilize it to the fullest.”

Freecycle: Everyone has at least a few items
that they don't really want but can't bear to throw
away. Free cycle it. Free cycling is giving
something to someone who will use it for free
instead of throwing it in the garbage. It's simple:
post a message on your local freecycle group's
website, decide who will get your item, then
arrange a pick up time.

Management Consultancy 2.0
The field of Management Consultancy (MC) has been fast evolving into a specialization. For a
very long time MC has been in vogue. It was known by different names. The Management
Consultants were known as advisors, specialists, experts, productivity engineers, and so on. The
common aspects of all these persons were the expertise they had in their subject and their
individual ability/creativity to convert their expertise into implementable inputs for their clients.
Increasingly the profession has become multi-functional. Earlier the design and cost
experts were two different persons. Today the client wants these two inputs properly
dovetailed and presented in an implementable format. So slowly the clients are becoming
focused on the end result more than the product or process.
Information technology was a separate specialization until recently. Today IT has become
part and parcel of every assignment. Without IT
intervention, no solution to the client can be
comprehensive. Alternatively, implementation will not
be possible without proper IT components.
In the evolution of consultancy as a profession in the recent times, implementation
has gained prime importance. The clients no more accept just a well presented
report nicely bound. They need implementable reports along with implementation
support if possible. This has emerged as a very important demand on the MC
profession.
The MC 2.0 hence has these key differentiators: multi-functionality, information
technology and implementation focus. What does this mean to the profession of
MC? MCs should equip themselves beyond their specialization. The IT has become
‗the‘ enabler now across all the specialization; hence seeking the support of IT
personnel even for basic things will not work and the MCs need to have a
reasonably above working knowledge in various facets of consulting. Last but not
the least is the implementation focus – this requires not just experience but also
innovative approaches and understanding of real life situations.
While the field of MC is continuously taking
new shapes and avatars, certain things will
never change – for instance the three
basic ingredients of what makes a good
MC – consulting, research and training.
But shouldn‘t these three ingredients be
good enough to satisfy the needs of the
profession? Yes – think of Research version 2.0 and Training version 2.0!
Incidentally, it is predicted that these two areas are going to increase in volume
in the near future. Are you yet ready for MC 2.0?

Brand logos-what they say!!!
Continental
Continental is a manufacturer of tyres. You could actually see this in their logo, because the first
two letters create a 3-dimensional tyre.
Toblerone
Toblerone is a chocolate-company from Bern, Switzerland . Bern is sometimes called "The City
Of Bears". They have incorporated this idea in the Toblerone logo, because if you look closely,
you will see the silhouette of a bear.
Baskin Robins
The old logo of Baskin Robbins had the number 31 with an arc above it. The new logo took this
idea to the next level. The pink parts of the BR still form the number 31, a reference to the 31
flavours.
Sony Vaio
Sony Vaio is a well known brand of laptops. But did you know that the name Vaio logo also had a
hidden meaning? Well, the first two letters represent the basic analogue signal. The last two
letters look like a 1 and 0, representing the digital signal.
Carrefour
Carrefour is one of the biggest European retailers, and it is French for "Crossroads". The logo
symbolizes this word via two opposite arrows. They also added the first letter of the name,
because if you look closely you will see the letter C in the negative space between the two
arrows.
Formula 1
At first, this logo might not make much sense. But if you look closely, you will see the number 1 in
the negative space between the F and the red stripes. I also love how this logo communicates a
feeling of speed.
Sun Microsystems
The Sun logo is one of the most famous "Ambigrams" in the world. You can read the brand name
in every direction; both horizontally and vertically. This logo was designed by professor Vaughan
Pratt of the Stanford University
Amazon.com
This logo does not seem to hide much at first sight, but it gives you a little insight in the
philosophy behind the brand. First of all, the yellow swoosh looks like a smile: Amazon.com want
to have the best customer satisfaction. The swoosh also connects the letters a and z, meaning
that this store has everything from a to z.

Pause!
Have you wondered how each day starts with a series of activities and thoughts from the moment you
open your eyes to the time you hit the bed? Thoughts rush in, activities are planned for the day and
the events during the day blend in with each other. We always run from one activity to another, be it
eating, sleeping or browsing.
What is it that you are running after? This scuttle only ends in tiredness, disillusionment and
de-motivation. The reasons for the rush may be many and the oft taken breaks are either for family or friends and
vacations. But is this the solution? Are you not just getting back to the grind after the so called break that is supposedly
meant for recharging?
All this hectic phase of activity leads only to confusion in the mind, physical tiredness, anger and all the negative
emotions that come with it. Social activities come to a standstill and you end up with a daily routine of work, eat and
sleep just to earn a livelihood!
What is the remedy? Is it worth all the fuss? What is it that you will take back with you when you leave this world?
One simple solution for all this would be the ―PAUSE‖. Pause like the pause
button in your VCD/DVD player. In simple words, it can be described as a
cessation of all activities and thoughts. Just stop, stare and look around. This
pause gives you a breather, a time when everything ceases. Sounds and
pictures are blocked out at this precise moment. It is a time for rejuvenation, a
time to collect your thoughts. As William Henry Davies says in his poem
Leisure – ―What is this life, if full of care, we have no time to stand and stare!‖
Pause and you will see the wonders around you. Pause and you will see the
small pleasures that life offers you. Pause and you enjoy the sounds and
smells that surround you. Stop and watch the people! All are in a journey similar to yours.
What happens when you pause? First of all, there is a slowdown of physical and mental activities, calmness sets in, you
get time to reassess the situation you are in. At this point of time, you connect with your inner core, a state that helps you
come to terms with what you are!
Physically, your natural state undergoes a change. You are more in control of the situation. There is no question of
making errors. Your actions are not impulsive but well thought out and planned. You experience a tranquil state.
This is the golden time when you listen to others around you, listen to your own inner voice, reflect on the situation,
analyse and arrive at a solution that can be recommended or put in action. Simply put … pause helps you to think clearly
and find suitable solutions!
Oprah Winfrey, the famous TV host says: ―When you don‘t know what to do, get still. The answer will come.‖
It brings about a complete internal transformation with clarity. You can be sure that your answer is right. The solution
arrived at would be right, if that particular thought or action brings with it joy. If there are elements of doubt in it and you
are not comfortable with it, you can be sure that it is not the right solution. So when you pause - listen, reflect and
recommend! Three simple and easy steps for solutions!

Insight into decision making
A group of children were playing near two railway tracks, one still in use while the other is unused. Only one child played
on the unused track, the rest on the operational track.
The train is coming, and you are just beside the track interchange. You can make the train change its course to the
unused track and save most of the kids. However, that would also mean the lone child playing by the unused track would
be sacrificed. Or would you rather let the train go its way?
Let‘s take a pause to think what kind of decision we could make.
Most people might choose to divert the course of the train, and sacrifice only one child. You might think the same way,
I guess. Exactly, I thought the same way initially because to save most of the children at the expense of only one child
was rational decision most people would make, morally and emotionally. But, have you ever thought that the child
choosing to play on the unused track had in fact made the right decision to play at a safe place?
Nevertheless, he had to be sacrificed because of his ignorant friends who chose to
play where the danger was. This kind of dilemma happens around us every day. In the
office, community, in politics and especially in a democratic society, the minority is
often sacrificed for the interest of the majority, no matter how foolish or ignorant the
majority are, and how farsighted and knowledgeable the minority are. The child who
chose not to play with the rest on the operational track was sidelined. And in the case
he was sacrificed, no one would shed a tear for him.
The great critic Leo Velski Julian who told the story said he would not try to change the
course of the train because he believed that the kids playing on the operational track
should have known very well that track was still in use, and that they should have run away if they heard the train‘s
sirens. If the train was diverted, that lone child would definitely die because he never thought the train could come over
to that track!
Moreover, that track was not in use probably because it was not safe. If the train was diverted to the track, we could put
the lives of all passengers on board at stake! And in your attempt to save a few kids by sacrificing one child, you might
end up sacrificing hundreds of people to save these few kids. While we are all aware that life is full of tough decisions
that need to be made, we may not realize that hasty decisions may not always be the right one.―Remember that what‘s
right isn‘t always popular… and what‘s popular isn‘t always right. ‖Everybody makes mistakes; that‘s why they put
erasers on pencils .

Find
What Does It Do?
This function looks for a specified letter inside another piece of text. When the letter is found the position is shown as a
number. If the text contains more than one reference to the letter, the first occurrence is used. An additional option can
be used to start the search at a specific point in the text, thus enabling the search to find duplicate occurrences of the
letter. If the letter is not found in the text, the result #VALUE is shown.
Syntax
=find(find_text, within_text,[start_num]
find_text : This needs to be a single character.
within_text : This is the piece of text to be searched through.
start_num : This is optional, it specifies at which point in the
text the search should begin.

No Questions Your Answers
1. The meaning of your name. Purusha means man, uttam means best.
2. Nick name. Purush.
3. Your dream job. I had my dream job which I lost to domestic problem.
4. Your first impression of NCRCL® . Professionally managed consultants (Company).
5. What personal/emotional characteristic of
yours do you want to change?
I don‘t get angry in stressful situation; I can look into the problem
calmly and find a solution.
6. Money or job satisfaction? It is a tricky choice as we all want to work in a job that we love but
we also need money to make quality of life as good as it can be.
7. Your stress buster. Go for a walk.
8. Do you have a small circle of close friends,
rather than a large number of friends? I have both.
9. What do you most like about a person? Honest and sincerity.
10. What do you most hate in a person?
Every person has flaws, hate is a strong word. I dislike several
personality traits—people who have double standards, lying,
cheating, misuse of trust.
11. Team work Vs Individual work – your com-
ments.
Depending upon personal traits and working environment, I think
being able work in a team is more significant Teamwork improves
communication, it isn't just about exchanging information – it is about
ideas, feelings, hopes and desires, we find this when we
communicate with people we trust and respect. It is also about all
those things that make us the individuals that we are. Admittedly,
working in groups has many benefits. When you work in a group,
you also have a chance to express your ideas and get feedback from
others. It is the good way to improve your presentation skills and
certainly your knowledge also. That is why Henry Ford rightly said
―Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress.
Working together is success‖.
12. Do you make efforts to get others to laugh
and smile? Yes.
13. Your heart rules your head or your head
rules your heart?
My head rules my heart. Listening to your heart can lead mistakes
which are unacceptable. The heart makes rash and spur of the
moment decisions while the head allows you to make well
coordinated, logical and methodical decisions, yeah I would rather
listen to my head overall.
14. Special talent. Basically I am a Bharatanatyam dancer.
15. Hobbies. Reading books, swimming.
