Art Projects – 60%

Each of the 8-10 projects you create this year will take about a month to complete. The projects take up the majority of our time and is where the

majority of your learning will occur, so it’s the majority of your grade.

Class Participation – 20%

Class Participation includes the following: The effort you put into each day you’re here, your ability to properly set up and clean-up your work area and

tools, your participation in class critiques and your ability to follow class rules.

Quizzes – 10%

Quizzes usually occur in an art-format (drawing your answers) and are meant to reinforce major, reoccurring concepts.

Homework – 10%

Usually a video or short article I want your opinion on.

Smart ways to use yoursmartphone in class:

Updating, checking, sending or making snap-chats, vine videos, instagram photos, facebook statuses, or

any other type of social media. 3. Fixing or putting on your make-up. 4.

Watching videos I haven’t asked you to. 5.

If your cellphone use is distracting or inappropriate for class, I will ask you only one time to put it in your bag or pocket. It will stay there for the rest of the period.

If you protest, refuse, or take it back out, it will go to Cell Phone Jail (on my desk) where it will remain until the end of the day. You can come pick it up before you go home, where your parents will be angry with you, because I’ve already emailed them.

If you protest or refuse to give me your phone, you are being insubordinate, which results in a suspension. Your phone will be given to the principal, and your parents have to come to school to pick it up. This is embarrassing and unnecessary.

If I ask you to put your phone away, just do it. Don’t be that guy.

*If your phone ends up in Cell Phone Jail and you do not wish for it to be locked up all day, you do have a chance to win it back at the end

of the period.

To win it back, you have to sing a song for the class.I get to choose the song.

Usually it’s a Mariah Carey song.
