Use of the gerund We use the gerund to talk about :

Likes and dislikes example: I like reading/ I hate running. Preferences: example: I enjoy playing basketball, but I prefer swimming.

we use the gerund after the verb "to like" and other verbs such as :{enjoy –recommend-suggest-advise-dislike –stop-detest –avoid-prefer…}

We form the gerund by adding "ing" to a verb. I like reading.

John Indira Wang Serials (love) (hate) (prefer) Westerns (dislike) (enjoy) (detest) Comedies (like) (enjoy) (hate) Documentaries (prefer) (dislike) (enjoy) Horror films (dislike) (hate) ( prefer)
