PE SP Lim proposed the Toast to RI
The President proposed the Toast to the clubs of the visiting Rotarians
Birthdays and Anniversaries: Present for the Cake cutting were
Birthdays: Sunny Bay (2nd), Amit Sadana
Anniversaries: Dr Kwok Wai Mun (6th)
Correspondence and announcements:
• The President requested Committee Chairs to complete the recruitment of their committees as soon as possible and notify himself or the Hon. Sec of their names.
• S@A Gladys Goh requested members to correct their profile in the Who's Who book and a copy was circulated. Those who have not yet sent in photos are requested to do so urgently.
• Exec. Sec. Derrick Wong suggested that the Who's Who be published on line to members so that they can update changes whenever they occur
• RC Pontian, Malaysia is having its installation dinner on 1st August. A list was circulated for all those who would like to attend to sign up. Anyone who would like to go can notify PE SP Lee. If there are sufficient numbers, a bus may be arranged.
• Dr Abraham announced the first meeting of the Rotary Foundation Committee on Tuesday 7th July at S'pore Island Country Club, Sime location at 7 p.m. Committee members include: Poh Kay Leong, Ronil Sujan, Daisy Irani and Michael Witt.
• The first BoD Meeting is scheduled for July 20th at The Conrad Hotel, 6.30-8.30pm.
Committee reports: International Service committee chair to report on the
Cambodia project. Mr SP Lee informed the meeting that this year he would
be running a water project for Nepal, with which Lee Lye Wah would be
helping.
Regarding the Cambodia project, further progress has been halted by lack
of funds because RI has deferred the disbursement of the matching grant
to after 1st August. Mr Jimmy Ooi is now co-ordinating the project and has
informed us that it is currently the rainy season in Cambodia and that
progress on building the water pond is only likely in November when the
weather will be more suitable for building.
Club business:
Sarge@arms Gladys Goh announced that $32 had been raised for the
Sunshine Box, mainly from latecomers, but the President also contributed
heavily for some minor mistakes in the announcements.
Prospective new members: Amit and Dr Stefan Klatt have accepted
invitations to become members of RCMC.

during connection to the projector. The Hon. Sec. encouraged members to

Note: Next week, Thursday 9th July our speaker will be Mrs Christine Laimer, voted AWA Woman of the Year 2006-7 and founder of the local charity Food from the Heart, which started by collecting surplus bread from the hotels and distributing it to poor people in Singapore, but now does much more...Members are asked to invite their spouses/partners to lunch to hear this remarkable woman speak about her work (Guests $35ea)Please notify Hon. Sec. of your expected number of guests by Monday 6th July.
