Oysfer Poy As You GoPoul Chick gqve on overview of the introduction of Oyster Poy As You Go (PAYG)ocross the London Trovelcord oreo, which will go live on 2"dJonuory 20l0 ocross ollLondon oreo troin operoting componies (TOCs). He exploined thot this would meonthot 44 SWT stotions will occept PAYG, in qddition to Trovelcords on Oyster whichore olreody occepted. A briefing will be issued oround the 2"d week in December toexploin ihe chonges.There will be 2 PAYG volidotors ot every stotion, ond customers will be required totouch in (which chorges the moximum fore) ond touch out (which refunds the mqximumfore ond chorges the correct omount). There will be o new hondheld device issuedwhich shows o red, oronge ond green light, rorher thon iust red ond green (the orongelight will be used to identify Freedom Posses, to ensure thot these ore being used ot thecorrect time of doy on Nqtionol Roil services). Employee representotives osked whotthe terms of using o Freedom Poss ore, ond Poul Chick exploined thot Freedom Possescon be used of ony time of doy on other TfL services, but thot the restriction of nolusing before 09:30 hours will continue on Notionol Roil services. He confirmed ihoiqnother difference of children oged 5-10 yeors being free on TfL will continue not toopply on Notionql Rqil services.There is little chonge to fhe process for using the new hondheld device to reod Oystercords, ond it will ollow the bqlonce on the cord to be disployed. The stoiion stoff willbe required fo iest the volidotors on o doily bosis, ond wipe down the vqlidotors tokeep them cleon. lf the volidotors ore not working properly, this should be reported tothe goteline control teom, who will then report this to Cubic (the conkoctors for thevolidotor). This teom will olso be responsible for sending out poger communicqtionsregording ony problems with the volidotors.SWT will not be retoiling PAYG, however other TOCs ore going to. This decisionrelotes to the SWT requirement for ITSO reoders (on olternotive Smortcord system) ondfhe cost of converting TVMs to occept PAYG. Hoving 2 reoders on the WMs could beconfusing for out customers. This retoiling decision wlll be kept under review. Therewill be communicotions distributed to stoff to indicote the closest PAYG top up points,ond fhere ore other eosy to use olternotives such os setting up "Auto top up" ortopping up onJine before storting the iourney. Revenue Protection Signing On/Off qrrongementsEmployee Representotives soid they were concerned to leorn thot signing on/off timeswere no longer being built into rosters.Andrew Fqirbonk soid thot signing on/ol| qllowonces were not included in RevenueProtection Terms ond Conditions olthough he understood thot some locotions hod beenopplying them. He wos however, proposing thot o time ollowqnce be given to RPlsond RPAs similor to thqt given to guords, to deliver o consistent opprooch. They soid they were hoppy tosupport coreer development, but did not wqnt them to be covering turns of fhe expenseof ticket office stoff working oddilionol hours if required. They were olso concernedqbout the proctice of monogers covering breoks. Andrew Foirbonk replied thot they do need toknow whether someone hos o volid ticket os o port of their role. He sqid he wouldinvestigote employee representotive's clqim thot overtime wos being offered outside ofthe grode. lt wos ogreed thot the differentiqtion between checking ond inspectingtickets needed to be mointoined.

    13. GPR clericql estqblishmenf, Reoding/Windsor qreqEmployee representotives stoted fhot the issue of port-timers ond GPRs hod not beenconsidered. Andrew Foirbonk replied thot qlthough we hove hqd port timers for onumber of yeors, troditionolly GPR cover hos not been required. He soid thof he wouldbring o proposol for o principle on this motter to the next meeting for discussion.

    14. Updore on uniform issueEmployee representotives stoted thot they hod heord thot Allen ond Douglos hod goneinto receivership. Andrew Foirbonk confirmed thot we hod chonged supplier ond nolonger used Allen ond Douglos. He confirmed thqt the current process for uniform issueis to contoct your line monoger for requirements for uniform on qn od-hoc bosis whenrequired. A uniform guide is issued during the induction week for new entronts.

    15. RCO rosleringEmployee representotives roised the issue thot RCOs work o set pottern of eorly ondlote turns, creoting problems with coveroge in the lote ofternoon. This did not oppeorto be the cose in the London end. Andrew Foirbqnk exploined thot the RCO rosterswould be influenced by BTP requirements, ond thot he would contoct Stuort Giddingsfor further clorificotion.

    16. Time off - Territoriql Army (TA) troiningEmployee representotives questioned the orrongements for gronting time off formembers of the TA.
