Dear Parents and Carers 2020 School Councillors School Councils make decisions that set the direction of the school. They: •help create and check the school's budget

•contribute to the school strategic plan •make decisions on policies like investments, payments by parents, dress code. Firstly, I would like to thank our 2019 School Councillors: Ms Sinem Bozdas and Dr Yashar Duyal who have completed their term. The community of Meadow Heights Primary School greatly appreciate their time, dedication and commitment in representing our school. Secondly, the poll for the 2020 School Council members is now complete. I would like to welcome our new or continuing School Councillors for 2020: Mr Peter La Motta, Mrs Lejla Sulicic, Mrs Fida Derbas, Mrs Derya Metin, Mr Recep Altindal and Mr Lance Lewis-Hall. Our Department members on School Council are Mrs Sharon Peluso, Mrs Amy Backas and Mr Joe La Mattina. Mrs Annmaree Bologna will continue in her role as a Community Representative on School Council. We have one more Community Representative Position available and this will be confirmed at our next School Council Meeting on Tuesday the 10th of March. Year 5 & 6 Camp The camp for our year 5&6 students will occur next week. The children and staff are excited and making preparations for this special event. HARMONY DAY

To celebrate Harmony Week, MHPS will be holding Harmony Day on Friday 20th March. We ask

students to dress up in cultural outfits as part of the day and bring a gold coin donation. Parents are

invited to come along at morning recess (11:00) for a picnic with their children. Just bring some food

to share with your family and a rug to sit on. The HUB will also be holding a special morning tea for

parents. So come along and celebrate!
