Kindergarten Enrolments 2019
At the beginning of Term 3 (24th July 2018) we will begin
taking Kindergarten enrolments for 2019.. A child is eligible to
begin school in 2019, if they are turning 5 by 31st July 2019.
Enrolment times are strictly between the hours of 9.30am
and 2.00pm Monday - Friday.
Please ensure that you bring in the appropriate paperwork
with you when enrolling. The basic paperwork required is:
Original Birth Certificate
Immunisation History Statement
Proof of Address (Council rate notice, Water or
Electricity account, Rental agreement)
If both parents of the child are born overseas you will need to
provide an Australian Passport of the child or proof of
Australian Citizenship of at least one parent (the parent must
have become an Australian
Citizen before the child was born) or provide Visa confirming
residency.
These documents are necessary for the enrolment process to
proceed. (If you are unable to attend the office within these
hours, or provide the required documentation, please contact
the office to make
alternative arrangements).
We look forward to seeing you and welcoming you, and our
new students to our school.

Term 2, Week 10 4th July 2018
Athletics Carnival
The Primary Athletics Carnival will be held on Thursday 26th
of July (Term 3 Week 1). Students in years 3 to 6 will be re-quired to wear their full sports uniform. Alternatively, students may choose to wear their sports shorts with a t-shirt that rep-
resents their house colour. It is also essential that your child wears sunblock and a school hat. Students must bring a bot-
tle of water to drink throughout the day.
Book Club Online Orders.
Have you ever thought of ordering your child’s Book Club
online. The next issue of book-club will be issued early next term and online is the easiest and most secure way to place your order.

Book Week and Education Week
News
It’s that time of year again!
Book Week and Education Week will be celebrated in Week 3
Term 3. Our activities will be centred around the theme:
Find Your Treasure!
What: Open Day, Book Parades, Book Fair, Art Show
When: Tuesday, 7th August 2018
Parents and caregivers are invited to the school on Open
Day to visit classrooms, attend the Book Parades, view the fantastic Art Show and visit the Book Fair.
The annual K-4 Book Character Parades will be held on Tues-
day, 7th August. It is always a pleasure to see so many stu-
dents dressed up on the day as their favourite book character.
Many book characters are everyday people that wear
everyday clothes, such as Greg and Rowley from Diary of a
Wimpy Kid, Billie B Brown and her best friend, Jack, EJ12-
spy girl, Ruby Lee, Jack Stalwart, Ella and Olivia and many
others.
Open Classrooms: K-2 9.00-9.30
3-6 11.40-12.10
Book Parades: Kinder 9.40-10.30 HALL
Year 1 and 2 9.40-10.30 ACTIVE AREA
Year 3 and 4 12.15-1.00 HALL
Year 5 and 6 will hold class/grade activities and are invited to
dress up as book characters on the day.
Book Fair:
The Book Fair will run over Weeks 2
and 3 and contains a wide variety of books for sale which range in price from approximately $6 to $30. Specialty items, such as book sets, may be higher. There
will also be a selection of posters and novelty stationery available for purchase.
A percentage of the sales will go towards new books for
the library. This event has been a huge success in the past thanks to the generosity of parents, students and staff. We look forward to your support again this year. A book fair
brochure and further information will be available in Week 1 Term 3.
In the lead up to our celebrations, the students will have the
opportunity to participate in the colouring-in and book- mark competitions.
Art Exhibition
This year our annual Art Exhibition will be
held on Tuesday 7th August to coincide
with our Book Week and Education Week
celebrations.
The exhibition is a wonderful event where we celebrate
art across the school. There will be artwork on display
from our Talented Art Program students as well as a
selection of art from various students in each class.
Premier’s Reading Challenge
Just a reminder that the 2018 Premier’s Reading Challenge
closes in August. All completed PRC record sheets must be
returned to Mrs Landow or Mrs Brunet by 21st August.
Congratulations to all students who have entered the
challenge this year.
