Mark David, a KOHLER Interiors Hospitality company, supplies the hospitality industry with a diverse range of the finest, most luxurious custom contract furnishings – seating case goods, upholstery and vanities. Attention to detail through design, manufacturing, project management, and customer service is our overriding passion — and makes us creative partners and experience makers.

As custom furniture suppliers we are often given specific designs to manufacture for case goods and upholstery. Where vanities are concerned we find that we are more often requested to provide concepts directly for minor customization. It may be that it’s a more unusual piece or perhaps the technical element that drives this, but our engineers are happy to make suggestions.

In this instance we have called upon Gettys, the global design and procurement company to create some designs for us to showcase. We are delighted that each one of their key designers was able to make a contribution so as to create this wonderful collection of beautiful configurations. Across their team a broad range of styles has been created such that one can be selected for any project, whatever the core styling theme may be.

The Chatoyant was selected by the team as the lead design and this was created and displayed at the 2012 HD Expo in Las Vegas.

Integrating all design and functional elements into one self-contained, thoughtful unit was the main goal of this design. This vanity provides ample lighting and a place

for everything the guest would need within a clean, well-proportioned unit. Whether new construction or a renovation, this unit could

be installed very easily and quickly and would fit many aesthetics.

Inspired by the dressing rooms of old Hollywood, this vanity design

combines the glamour of that era with contemporary functionality. It includes

an MP3 player dock and plenty of storage space for the guest.

Modern but detailed. Layers of different materials create a

sophisticated piece-like furniture. Multiple layers of materials could

create various combinations and feels per different applications.

With bathroom vanity surface getting smaller day-by-day, the need for modular storage is being felt more and more. Strip is a vanity unit that is

comprised of a sink and a padded rubber mat concealing a storage bin. A quick

transverse double fold of the mat reveals a 6" high ledge — ideal for laying out

ones personal care products.

A flexible vanity designed for multiple guests, the vanity features a double-sink

with draining/drying area to help keep the countertop dry. The spacious countertop

gives guests the ability to work, eat and get ready for the day. The removable tray gives convenient storage for toiletries without the

fear of forgetting something in a drawer. The space under the sink provides space for trash/recycle bins, helping to keep the area

clean and compact.

Inspired by school yard drinking fountains, this simplified vanity design

combines nostalgia and forward-thinking technology. It eliminates

protruding fixtures and integrates water delivery in mirror with a push or turn of temperature control dials in the front of the counter. Ample storage is offered on each side of the vanity and a pull out shelf for additional counter surface.

Mirrored drawers with luxurious wood as high contrast and additional personalized elements — retractable

polished nickel tray for bags and personal items, stone top with recessed niches for

personal items like jewelry, make-up, MP3 player and phone docking — make

this the ideal Glam vanity.

For this vanity design, the intent is to have a smooth, seamless flow in the surface

that receives the water. Its soft curves undulate as a water ripple would, evoking

that sense of fluidity and connection of peace and grace that water brings. The

clean lines and minimalist approach invites the guest to be more contemplative

and self-reflective. The large, back-lit mirror makes the guest become the

centerpiece of the space. Simple materiality in wood, glass, steel and smooth porcelain become the elegant backdrop for the guest.

Key Considerations When Designing A Vanity

Consider brighter/lighter colored surface areas for bathrooms with less lighting.

Additional storage areas create clutter-free “work” space as it relates to extra amenities like towels and blow dryers.

Marble, Granite and Quartz possess strength and beauty. Their surfaces are highly resistant to stains and scratches, making them easy to clean.

If you require any of these designs to be rendered to suit your project, please let us know. We will be delighted to proportion the design to your specific space availability and reflect materials and colors to match your design theme.

Send us your spec to [email protected]. Or, if you need pricing to [email protected].

Consider the vanity height for a broad range of needs. Recommend approximately 32 to 34 inches (U.S.)

Utilize durable materials with minimal recesses and liquid absorption properties to ensure longer life from frequent cleaning and everyday use.

Lever faucet handles are recommended for ease of use.

Smooth edgest give bathrooms a softer look and minimize the risk of guest accidents.

Ample surface areas translate into easy-to-reach personal care and cosmetic products for guests.

Leave suitable clearance space for guests to easily move about and properly open drawers and doors.

Adequate lighting seamlessly integrates into the décor and allows guests to leave picture-perfect—especially those with porrer vision.

Leave sufficient clearance space between the sink and faucet so guests can easily wash their face and hands.

Use materials that conceal the appearance of watermarks.
