FORGE OPERATOR The forge operator’s job is to make as-cast, or rough castings of parts using hot deformation processes in the specified dimensions. The forge operator handles the parts for the forging tools. You prepare, set and use a range of forging tools, including power hammers, presses and ring rollers, according to instructions and computer-integrated manufacturing programs. You would be responsible for ensuring that forging equipment is working correctly and for performing basic maintenance on these machines. You will also contribute to continuous improvement efforts. The job also includes monitoring the quality and traceability of as-casts and key process parameters in order to identify any anomalies. Forge operators work in teams of five or six.
