My Dear Esteemed Colleague

I am delighted to inform you that I am contesting for the Southern India Regional Council Elections –

2015 of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India scheduled for coming December 4th and 5th 2015.

The support you have shown me during the last elections conducted in 2012 with 386 first preference

votes is itself a clear indication that is was not meant for me as an individual but for the entire young

generation of chartered accountants. I am grateful from my heart to each and every one of you and

seek your continuous support.

When the whole world is running in a breath-taking pace in line with creating a new generation of

work ethics and culture with enormous opportunities in the domestic and global economy, we as

Indian Chartered Accountants professionally and personally should embrace this pace with

contentment and ensure our growth along with our future steadiness. I believe, our Institute at this

juncture requires a team of experienced and fresh members to transform and adopt ourselves into

this new era.

“Of 47,990 members in Southern region 30,126 are

associate members with more than 15,000 members

qualifying in the last five years . There is no

representation from the young generation in the

Southern India regional council of ICAI.

With India growing to be an economic super power, we being the partners in nation building should look

ahead above all and formulate policies for the coming decade. While the senior members bring with them

rich experience and knowledge, we as a young generation can collaborate our fresh ideas, innovative and

technical skills to create an inclusive environment for the coming decade of growth story.

MY AGENDA AND VIEWS

WORK EXCHANGE PROGRAMME – A common understanding is that 80% of our income is

acquired from just 20% of our clients and vice versa., we can create a organised work exchange

programme where in senior firms can outsource their smaller works to small and medium size

firms thereby increasing their focus on larger works, while creating opportunities to the SMP

Firms.

ENCOURAGING MEMBERS TO PRACTICE/ENTERPRENUERSHIP – We are living in the days

where entrepreneurship is looked in with a superior perspective, with everyone in India and

globally are trying to cultivate entrepreneurship skills in the coming generations, and same is

seen in form robust start up culture growing from our very foundations. Institutions under

various curriculums are helping and incubating new start-ups under their respective fields there

by encouraging and providing a first advantage to these start-ups. I believe ICAI should provide,

facilitate and nurture such entrepreneurship skills in the core areas, including encouraging new

members to setup practice, create and cultivate new ideas, and there even helping them to

establish the same.

PARTNERS IN NATION BUILDING – ICAI from time to time has been part various initiatives in

nation building such as Swachh Bharat, investors education programmes and etc., we can

organise venture capitalist week, wherein the ICAI can be a foundation for our clients and

investors to gather funding there by being a part of the government of India’s start-up initiatives

such as Make in India.

Liaising with state governments to convey them the importance of engaging our services. In this

context, we have much to contribute to root out corruption, design monitoring and early

warning systems so as to ensure improved service delivery, institute controls that would

minimise instances of wasteful and fruitless expenditure, and design reports so that

politicians, officials, and other stakeholders have access to accurate and timely information.

This should contribute to improved decision-making and policy outcomes.

CPE PROGRAMMES— Continued Professional Education is an integral part of our community,

which in recent days is losing its sheen as it has become more of attendance based system and

also we are witnessing very less association of our members from industry. With suitable

planning, we can style it equally engaging to both members in Practice and Industry and even

remove the delegate fees for programmes conducted within the ICAI Campus.

OTHER AREAS OF PRIORITY

i. To Introduce Online Voting Facility in ICAI Elections with Digital Signatures or with any

other best authentication methods available.

ii. Bringing in more transparency into the proceedings of our Institute.
