MAJOR J. BRYAN CREEL Major Creel is an IDE-Strategic Policy Fellow assigned to SAF/AQQU. His first six-month rotation in the fellowship was in the A1 Action Group. Prior to his fellowship, Major Creel was the Executive Officer to the Commanding General, Combined Forces Special Operations Component Command – Afghanistan (CFSOCC-A) as part of the AFPAK HAND program. Major Creel began his career as an enlisted helicopter mechanic and flying crew chief in the Army. He then attended helicopter flight training and flew the UH-60 Black Hawk as an Army Warrant Officer. After 15 years in the Army, he transferred to the USAF and graduated OTS in 2000, then the USAF Weapons School in 2002. Major Creel was also an instructor at the Weapons School for four years until he was selected for the AFPAK HAND program in 2009. He’s held positions at the squadron, wing, and deployed Joint Force Command levels. Major Creel’s operational tours include Operations DESERT SHIELD, DESERT STORM, JOINT ENDEAVOR, JOINT GUARD, NORTHERN WATCH, ENDURING FREEDOM, and IRAQI FREEDOM. He holds an undergraduate degree in professional aeronautics and graduate degrees in both business administration and aeronautical science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
