Stewart’s Automotive Group/Request for Proposal
Stewart’s Automotive Group is a family operated business. Stewart’s Auto Sales has been
the Suzuki dealer in Jamaica since 1982 and has established this marque as a dominant
force in the market. Stewart’s maintains one of the largest car inventories; new shipments
from Japan arrive monthly and are stored in the company’s duty free bonded warehouse,
allowing prompt deliveries. The company’s inventory of spare parts is unchallenged as they
maintain their “WE SERVICE WHAT WE SELL” motto.
Arising from the acquisition of the assets of the Issa Transport Group in 2010, the Stewart
Group also comprises:
• Stewart’s Auto Sales Ltd - dealers for Mitsubishi motor vehicles and Honda motorcycles, • Silver Star Motors Ltd. - dealers for Mercedes-Benz motorcars • Stewart Industrial – dealers for varying brands of mining and material and passenger handling
equipment • Budget Rent-A-Car – car rental business
The Group is seeking to outsource some of its customs brokerage activities.
Mairtrans’ Understanding of the Requirement/Work to be Performed
Mairtrans is required to provide customs brokerage services to handle some/similar volumes
in accordance with the standards as are set out below:

• 52 - 20' Containers • 47 - 40' Containers • 116 - LCL shipments • 1273 Air Shipments via
DHL, UPS, etc. • 6784 Additional lines on
entries prepared over 12 months
• Air clearance - 2 days max to warehouse; • Sea Clearance 100% duty paid, no bonded warehouse- 3
days max to warehouse; • Broker to provide daily updates via Google Docs or Excel
of status of each shipment air/sea to ensure visibility to the Stewart’s Automotive Group;
• Broker to provide bond for an ‘imprest’ account to fund all payments outside of brokerage fees to ensure ease of clearance; and
• Broker to provide in-house personnel (to be located in Stewart’s logistics area) to coordinate clearance of products.

Company Background
Mairtrans International Logistics Ltd is a Jamaican owned Logistic Specialist company,
formed in 2003. Mairtrans offers logistics services throughout the Caribbean through our
network of affiliates, sub-contracted service providers for warehousing and managing large
projects and dedicated in-house team. A niche provider, we have a solid relationship with
the third largest logistics provider (domiciled in the U.S.A.) in the world and continue to build
our linkages to other major international hubs in Canada, Europe and the Far East.
Mairtrans is a member of the Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association of
Jamaica (CBFFAJ), and the Shipping Association of Jamaica, the Caribbean Shipping
Association.
Meet Our Founder & CEO Mr. Donovan Wignal has over 25 years industry experience, having started his journey at the Customs Department. He spent seventeen years, reaching the position of Shipping & Logistics Manager,with one of the leading telecommunications multinational company. A Past President (2009/20011 & 2006/2008) of CBFFAJ, he is the Assistant Secretary/Treasurer of the Caribbean Association of Customs Brokers. He is the President of the MSME Alliance (May 2013) and represents the association on the Board of Directors of the PSOJ. Mr. Wignal holds a Diploma in International Shipping and Logistics and Bachelor of Science/Masters Degrees in Logistics & Supply Chain Management from the Caribbean Maritime Institute.

operations. Some of our team members have over 20 years’ experience in the
customs brokerage/shipping industry.

Clearance Certificates from the National Insurance Department, Commissioner of Inland
Revenue and the Value Added Tax Department.
A copy of our Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC) will be provided on request.
Special Notes: All hazmat security handling requirements are as per NEPA and the shipping line
requirements and our policies are guided as such. We work with only IATA certified partners, even as we pursue our IATA licence. We are licensed Tier 1 Customs Brokers. As such, we perform freight forwarding
functions as is permissible. A specific licence is not required.

Mairtrans International Logistics Ltd is known for its on time and proficient services.
Employing currently available logistics tracking software solutions, we are able to,
track cargo from source to destination.
Further, Mairtrans’ culture of responsiveness and cooperation will allow us to operate
seamlessly within Stewart’s Automotive Group’s in-house capabilities and
established technical framework and guidelines. We listen, we adapt, we deliver!

� Management will have a hands-on approach to the business operations, with a
proactive management style, responding speedily to changes in the business.

Guaranteed minimum volumes or value of cargo will enable us to provide
service at a cost-effective price mutually agreed between both parties. This
will be dependent on the billing option that Stewart’s Automotive Group
chooses.

Support options for emergency or special request si tuations
We propose to have a 24-hour on-call option to include overseas travel to
provide for ANYWHERE/ANYTIME emergencies. Special conditions will
apply.
