Simple Minds

History of the Band

Simple Minds began as a punk band in 1977 in Glasgow, Scotland

The band has released 16 albums to date and hit major acclaim in the early 1980’s

One of their biggest hits is “Don’t you Forget About Me” from the 1985 John Hughes film The Breakfast

Club

The band is still together and relies very heavily on social media to interact with their fans

Social Media

“Conversation at the baggage carousel Toronto airport yesterday morning.

Charlie Burchill to me "Aye...eh....Jim. That ..um Facebook thing, seems pretty good. Good for, you know communicating with fans I think. Maybe I will start to sort of...post some wee bits and that. What do you think? "

Me " What do I think Charlie? I have begging you to do it for years!"

You can let (the brilliant) Charlie Burchill know what you think of his idea - right here. JK
