Dear Members and Friends

The coming of the New Year 2013 reminds us that we have just 9 year to stay on unless we

can renew the land lease successfully. Our Centre since the year 1995 has been regularly

providing spiritual services through the Vajrayana way to members and friends, and the local

community in Pasir Ris. Being continuously blessed by Sakyapa lamas it has become a very

holy and auspicious place. Throughout all these years members and visitors have benefitted

much.

Our lunar New Year 2013 is the water snake year and begins on 10 February 2013. As with

previous year before the 2102 Dragon year ends, we conduct Akshobhya Changchog (1-3

February 2103) to liberate our beloved deceased ones from worldly suffering, and

Vajrakilaya Gutor to purify and overcome all obstacles of our monastery, members and

friends on the 29th day of the 12th lunar month the last day of the year (9 Feb 13). In addition

to this Lo Manthang Monastery monks will also conduct Shernying Dudhog (with dough

rubbing to overcome diseases) Singanada Puja (naga-linked sicknesses) and also the

wrathful Padmasambhava Puja starting 18 Jan 2013.

We welcome the water snake year with the traditional New Year eve program of Heart Sutra

Chanting and Dro la Day Kyid dedication to every sentient being before the countdown to the

year 2013 at midnight. The Sakya College monks will join us on this festive occasion. It will

follow by a 3-day celebration. This year we have double joy in celebration because Tibetan

Losar fall on the next day (that is 11 February) , and on the 12 February we will auspiciously

string and hoist the luntag flag for a new beginning at 8am. and performing smoke Puja,

offering and dedication prayers. We welcome all to join in for the occasion.

This coming year of the water snake may not be a year of continuous prosperity and

according to various authoritative sources, a financial slowdown can be expected. In view of

this, we will conduct more wealth activities of various deities: 1. 18 JambalaYangdrup and re-

consecration of Centre wealth vase (11 Feb 13 ) 2. Red Jambala Puja, and White Mahakala

and Kururkulle puja and fire Puja (15 -17 Feb 13) 3. Water Offerings to Yellow Jambala at

any time that is auspicious to you. These are the wealth activities all can participate.

During this year ‘Long-life Blessing week’, we will introduce 2 long life deities for

propitiation: The White Tara Puja (22 Feb) and the 9 long-life deities Puja of Amitayush

Mandala (24 Feb) to bless our Centre a long and fruitful existence, and all members and

visitors a long, healthy and prosperous life. We will also perform the Lenchag Torma during

this week (23 Feb) to clear away karmic debt and bad karmic fruits. Though we may not able

to determine how long we can live as a human life, and the quality of life we can experience,

but surely with the propitiation to the long-life deities, and Lenchag torma, their blessing can

bestow us with quality long life benefits .

Our Centre most popular Puja, and also the King of all Puja, the Great Drolma Yuldog Puja

will be conducted from 27th February to 3r d March 13 2013. Owing to its effectiveness and

popularity, we encourage everyone to participate in one form or another to get the full

blessing directly from the great compassionate Mother Tara. Do contact your families,

relatives, friends, colleagues and acquaintances to participate especially in the burning of

one’s effigies of negativities, bad luck, bad omens, bad characters etc. Last year we have

more than 700 participants in Effigies burning.

We wish all participants and their families will enjoy and benefit from the Program and

receive all the blessing for the year 2013. May all wishes come true and may all be protected

from calamities
