Dear Sakya Monastery Members and Friends,   The Virupa Educational Institute (VEI), under the spiritual direction of His Eminence Avikrita Vajra Rinpoche, aims to provide opportunities to learn about Tibetan Buddhism and spiritual practices for attaining happiness and the ability to bring happiness to others.   We are excited to be offering some amazing Dharma events this spring quarter.   May 1 and 2, 2018, we are blessed with two amazing days of Dharma. His Holiness the 42nd Sakya Trizin will bestow the very auspicious Kalachakra Empowerment at the Lynnwood Convention Center.   May 7, 8, and 9 are three days of honoring and cultivating compassion. These very special days of prayers will be done in honor of the Second Memorial of the Parinirvana of His Holiness Jigdal Dagchen Sakya Dorje Chang and will conclude with a beautiful Candlelight Vigil ceremony.   May 28 and 29 are two very auspicious days for Purification and Merit accumulation with the 10th annual Saka Dawa Retreat.   These are only a few of the highlights from this Spring quarter, and as you will see in the catalog, there is so much more!   A word about our cover photo this quarter: This is the pinnacle of the sacred Buddhist temple Borobordur in Indonesia. It shows the Circular Rainbow, a reminder of H.H. Jigdal Dagchen Sakya Dorje Chang, and his ever-present blessings. It was witnessed by many while on pilgrimage this past January. For more information and photos of this recent Pilgrimage, we have several sources:
