Please call the Senior Center if you would like to sign-up or know someone who could benefit.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) VITA has gone virtual, offering free and confidential tax preparation to seniors and other clientele.

At Friday Feast pick-ups Feb. 5 and 19 and March 5, TetonVITA volunteers will be curbside with information about this year's services and to distribute Tax Prep Packets for you to organize your tax documents. Return the packets at the next Friday Feast or to the Library during VITA hours. Volunteers will finish your taxes,

returning them at a later Friday Feast or by appointment at the Library. Contact-less services will also be available at the Library, with appointments starting Jan 27: Tue. and Wed. from 2:30-7:15 pm and Sat. 10 am-2:45 pm through April 15. No need to leave your car.

Let TetonVITA get you up-to-date with your taxes, including last year's and any COVID-related payments you might have missed. More information at www.tclib.org/tax

Lynne MyersMeet Lynne Myers, one of our Meals on Wheels volunteers! Lynne has been delivering meals for a year and a half. We love Lynne for her cheerful personality and willingness to jump in and help out when needed!

She says her favorite part of volunteering is getting to talk to Jackson's old-timers. Some people she knows, and some she's just getting to know. Lynne has a knack for getting to know people, even when she's standing on their doorstep wearing a mask.

We asked Lynne what her tips are for delivering Meals on Wheels and she said, "wear your yak tracks, and just keep talking to them! Plan on at least saying

'How are you doing?' 'I miss you' or 'I hope

    you enjoy your meal!'

Lynne has lived in Jackson for 48 years. She's always out and about, cross country skiing, snow shoeing and hiking. Recently, she also started volunteering with the call lines for Teton County Publich Health too!

    Volunteer Spotlight

I am delighted at the response of Teton County seniors towards taking the COVID-19 vaccine. This gives me hope for our future. We are pleased to take part by having the Senior Center as a vaccination site. The Health Department and St. John’s Health started vaccines for people 80+ on January 21 and will begin vaccines for the 75+ age group after that. Then they will open up registration for the 70+ group. We do not yet know when vaccines will be available for the 65+ group.

We will try to keep you informed as this process rolls out, recognizing that there will be changes along the way. If you have questions or need transportation for your vaccine appointment, please give us a call. The best local source of information on vaccines is through the Teton County Health Department at www.tetoncountywy.gov/2061/COVID-19.

To register for a vaccine on-line, go to http://bit.ly/TCHDvaxregistry. Another way to register is to call (307) 732-8628, option 1. If you need help, we are more than happy to help you register and/or help you find answers for your questions.

While vaccines are being administered at the Senior Center, we be operating our curb-side lunch pick-up from 12:00-12:30. Please note that we will not be able to have people line up early for lunch, so please come during that time. If you need a late pick-up, please give us a call to make arrangements.

    Best regards,Becky Zaist
