Familier er glade for gratis bogpakker

Svagt stillede børnefamilier landet over har i fem måneder modtaget gratis

bogpakker. Projektet skal løfte børn ud af negativ social arv - men Liberal Alliances

kulturordfører mener, at staten i stedet kollektiviserer det private

Børnefamilier er begejstrede for bøgerne "Tip tap tønde" og "Plasterpige", som er med i de

gratis bogpakker, som bibliotekarer landet over uddeler i belastede områder.

Projektet "Bogstart " har stået på siden marts og er et led i regeringens strategi til at

bekæmpe negativ social arv ved at give børn fra socialt belastede familier et bedre

udgangspunkt for senere skolegang. Om projektet vil bære frugt vides ikke endnu, men cirka

3000 bogpakker er allerede blevet uddelt i 15 kommuner, blandt andet i Gellerup-Toveshøj i

Århus , som er et af de største bogstarts-områder.

- Projektet er jo ret nyt, men vi er meget fortrøstningsfulde. Folk er meget glade for pakkerne

og går meget op i, at naboerne også får bogpakker. Det betyder meget for folk, at de ikke er

de eneste, siger Lone Hedelund, afdelingsbibliotekar i Gellerup og Hasle biblioteker, som har

uddelt næsten 250 bogpakker.

Ifølge hende går bibliotekarerne forgæves cirka hver fjerde gang, de besøger en børnefamilie.

Men det går allerede bedre, så snart budskabet er spredt i et område.

- Foleden besøgte vi en kvinde, som ikke forstår så meget dansk. Hun ringede til sin søster,

som lige havde haft en bibliotekar på besøg med en bogpakke, og søsteren kunne anbefale

hende at tage imod bøgerne. Vi er også gået til den lokale imam, som har anbefalet projektet

i fredagsbønnen, siger Lone Hedelund.
