The following steps will help you get up and running on LinkedIn easily and quickly, and provide you with
the First Step in utilizing a valuable digital tool To Build a Powerful Network For Yourself

And is is easy to set up, fun, free,
and can be very valuable
How valuable? You can gain an advantage over about 95% of the
competition in any situation.
Step 1 - Build a good profile by…A.Taking a look at some good profiles.
Google “ LinkedIn & Kawasaki ” or look at mine to see a good exampleB. Good Profiles give a good picture of the person, but are neither too long or too short
C. It’s your resume on Linked In - usually takes
about a half hour to an hour
D. This is the core, so try to make it reflect who you are, what you have done, your interests
E. Once Profile is done, you have your core
In Your Profile, to help friends and recruiters find you...
When listing companies and colleges, etc
use both name and abbreviation
BU, Boston University
Do same with technical skills
PCP, Primary Care Provider
CFO, Chief Financial Officer
Step 2 - Account and Settings• At the top right of every page is the
Account and Settings link - click on it and choose all your settings - it’s self explanatory
• You can change any settings by clicking on Account and Settings from almost any page
• Account and Settings and the box on the left of the home screen are the command centers
Step 3 - Get A Personal Vanity URL
Instead of Http://linkedIn.com/pub1/3457/123
You can have your own name
Http:LinkedIn.com/petersvoboda( To do this pick edit Public Profile on Main Profile )
You can then place this on your stationary, website, brochure. etc for people to find more about you
Step 4 - Try Out Some Things
•Invite some people to join you
•Give and get a recommendation
•Create a Slide Show
•Do a Group
• Etc, Etc, etc
•The more you do, the more robust your presence ( we can show you how - some examples )
