September 2010 Dear mission partners, The first important event in August was the PHAT Camp themed “Moving Forward” from 2nd – 6th August. This is the second year in a row that we had a team comprising of local leaders to run the camp. Coming from Liverpool, Manchester, Hull, Leicester, Birmingham, London, Guildford, Exeter, Bristol, and many other locations, this is truly a local second generation group. These leaders spend a weekend in COCM for leadership training prior to the camp. I am very proud of them as they shepherd through the younger generation. During the PHAT Camp, more then 10 made decisions to follow Jesus and more than 80 recommitted themselves to live for Christ. Please pray for COCM as we further develop our ministry among this group of younger genera-tion, who are local language speaking ethnic Chinese, to make a difference in the local churches, and to nudge the local-born Chinese for mission. Please also pray for COCM to have more experienced mentor-type missionaries helping out in this ministry. After a long period of preparation, the COCM Gospel Team, targeting Mainland Chinese stu-dents, started their evangelistic journey on 10th August and set foot on the first destination - The University of Northampton. Northampton is only 45-minute driving away from the COCM Mission Centre in Milton Keynes, but the student ministry at the university has long been un-derstaffed. Collaborating with Rev. Philip Yip, the Chinese chaplain of the Multi-Faith Chaplaincy at the university, we organised a Musical Welcome Night to welcome the new Chinese students who has already been there for the language courses. Praise the Lord that more than 100 stu-dents turned up. Not too surprised - all of them are from Mainland China! We thank the Lord that some of these new students showed interest in further understanding Christianity. Some of them were also keen to attend the upcoming gospel sharing camp - "It is wonderful to know You" in September at the COCM Mission Centre. May the seed of the Gospel continue to grow within their hearts! The Gospel Team is led by our new missionary couple – Gordon and Maggie Lam. More than 20 of us, including me, were also there for this initial event. Though I was really eager to get into the action, I must admit I felt a bit old among these students who were born mostly in the late 1980s or early 1990s. But at the same time, I'm particularly encouraged to see many of our young team members eagerly helping out. They are our younger generation missionary trainees, as well as Mainland Chinese students serving in local fellowships. All of them have a heart to serve the Lord and share the Gospel with others. Please join me to pray that this experience will strengthen their faith in the Lord and their confidence in sharing gospel with others. Pray that God will send out more young people like them to go into the mission fields and win the stu-dents for Christ at various universities in the UK and Europe. During September, we are going to welcome many more new students coming to the UK and Europe, most of whom are Mainland Chinese students. Please continue to remember our Gospel Team and its continuing ministry among these students in the coming 3 months. We will also have an Open Day celebrating COCM 60th Anniversary on 4th September at our mission centre. As I look back into the past, I felt strongly that our Lord is faithful always. 二零一零年九月 親愛的宣教夥伴們， 八月的第一項重要活動就是於 8月 2日至 6日舉行的“齊來頌讚祂”（PHAT）營會。這是我們連續第二年全部由英國本地的青年人領袖來組織舉辦這樣的營會。這些青年人來自利物浦、曼徹斯特、豪城、萊斯特、伯明翰、倫敦、喬福、埃克塞特、布里斯托以及其他各個地方，這實在是一支由英國本地第二代青年人組成的領袖隊伍。這些領袖們在營會開始前的週末在 COCM 宣教中心舉行了領袖培訓，他們要在營會中牧養那些比他們更年輕的一代，我實在為這些青年人的領袖們感到自豪。在營會期間，有十多個青年人決志信主，有八十多位青年人願意在神面前重新立志，為主而活。請繼續為 COCM 的華裔第二代事工禱告，願神繼續帶領這一群講本土語言的華裔第二代青年人，使他們不僅成為推動教會更新改變的力量，更成為推動華裔第二代青年加入宣教隊伍的力量。同時，我也禱告神能帶領更多有督導恩賜的宣教士加入我們的團隊，來更好地牧養這群青年人。

經過一段長時間的準備，COCM 佈道隊在 8 月 10日開始了他們福音之旅的第一站——北安普敦大學。佈道隊的主要佈道目標群體是那些剛來英國不久的中國大陸留學生。北安普敦距米頓堅大約 45 分鐘車程，那裡的學生工作長期缺乏人手。這次，我們與北安普敦大學校牧處的葉牧師合作，為剛到大學參加語言課程的中國留學生舉辦了一次迎新音樂會。感謝主，當天的音樂會現場大約有 100 名學生參加，而這些學生全部都來自中國大陸！在音樂會結束後，有一些學生表示他們很有興趣繼續了解基督教信仰，更有一些學生願意參加 9 月在COCM 宣教中心舉辦的“認識你真好”福音分享營。願這福音的種子繼續在他們的心中成長。 佈道隊由林堅和蕭咏梅宣教士夫婦統籌帶領，當天的活動有超過 20 位弟兄姊妹參與其中，我也正是其中的一個。雖然我很想與這些學生交流，但是相對於這些“80 後”和“90後”，我在年齡上仍然與他們有所差距。但是與此同時，我又很欣喜地看到在我們的佈道隊中有很多年輕的弟兄姊妹願意起來服事。他們當中的一些人是 COCM 的實習宣教士，其餘的大多數都來自於英國各個地方的教會和團契，他們共有一個心志，就是要將福音帶給這些與他們有相同背景和經歷的學生們。請與我一起為這些年輕人來禱告，願神藉著這樣的經歷來堅固他們在主裡的信心，並讓他們在將來與人分享福音的時候更有從神而來的自信。同時，也願神親自興起和差派更多像這樣的年輕人去到不同的宣教工場，為主贏得那些散佈在英國和歐洲大陸各處的留學生們。 進入九月，我們將迎來新一批學生開學的高峰時期，特別是有大批從中國大陸來的留學生將湧入英國和歐洲各地的大學。請繼續為 COCM 佈道隊的事工禱告，佈道隊在未來三個月將去到不同的城市和大學，向這些學生傳講福音的大好消息。與此同時，我們將於 9 月 4 日在 COCM 的宣教中心，舉行紀念 COCM 成立 60 週年開放日活動。在這樣的日子裡，當我回望來路，我深知神信實無變。我堅信這位在我們眾人心裡動了善工的主，必成全這工，直到耶穌基督的日子！ 在主內與你們同工的， 呂子峰牧師 總幹事
