Their formal assembly was proceeded by a fun assembly hosted by the students, and a good deal of fun was had by Year 12 and the audience alike. On behalf of the school, I would like to wish Year 12 all the very best for their upcoming Higher School Examinations, which will commence early next term. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Mr Simmons demonstrated the “Robotic – Lego Mindstorm” component that will be running next Term for STEM in Year 7 & 8. The students will make their robots with the lego and programme them for movement, sound, light and sensors.

The students will use coding to solve various challenges throughout the course.

PBL At LCCS we believe that everyone can make a difference by taking action to improve a situation or by helping other people. We expect all students to think before they act or speak, take responsibility for their words and actions, put others first on occasion and have positive social values.

Art Competition Next term students in Kindergarten to Year 11 are invited to partake in an in school art competition. 20 students will be selected to have an artwork created on a canvas and displayed in Griffith Central. Students are to submit the painting/drawing/sketch they have completed independently to Mrs O'Connor or Miss Freeman by the Friday October 13 (Week 1). Skate Park Meeting On Thursday 21st September, Paul McFadyen hosted a meeting at our school about the new skatepark to be developed in Lake Cargelligo. Mr McFadyen wanted our ideas and input into want we would like in the park. The meeting included Years 3 – 12 to participate in the making of a new skatepark. A design for a skatepark was put forward by Mr McFadyen

and we split into groups to create designs for our future skatepark. The sessions was successful and our ideas will be added into the design. Having a skatepark is great because it includes the whole community and also it will be a good tourist attraction. Charlotte and Lachlan Year 7 & 8 – Science Experiments
