They met up with our Year 4 at a traditional Aboriginal welcome with our Aboriginal Dance group performing and teaching the students their dances as well as having fun games to help interaction between the students. The next day they visited Steve and Jan Johnson’s for a wonderful display and demonstration of how they use their working draught horses. The students from Sydney Grammar and our Year 4 throughly enjoyed their morning.

Other activities were making ochre and painting Aboriginal art, visiting St Francis and Murrin Bridge Pre-school. They also got together with our students for music and made up a song. The grand finale was on Thursday where the schools combined to showcase their music and songs.

TELL THEM FROM ME Surveys I am delighted that this term, our school, will participate in a Department of Education initiative: the Tell Them From Me feedback survey. The survey measures factors that are known to affect academic achievement and other student outcomes. The focus of the NSW-wide survey is on student wellbeing, engagement and effective teaching practices. More information about the survey is available at: http://surveys.cese.nsw.gov.au

The survey is a great opportunity for our students and parents to provide us with valuable and quick feedback on what they think about school life, how engaged they are with school and the different ways that teachers interact with them. Schools in Australia and around the world have used the Tell Them From Me survey to help improve how they do things at school. I want to assure you that the survey is confidential. The survey is conducted online and will take about 15 minutes to complete. Students have completed surveys during school time. WE WOULD LOVE FOR ANY PARENTS AND CARE GIVERS TO COMPLETE OUR SURVEY ON LINE SO WE CAN IMPROVE OUR SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT. Please enter the link below into your smart phone or computer browser and take the survey today!
