seen an increase in excessive speed on the roadway. We allare enjoying the early spring and the roads are very cleanand clear, but this does not mean you should increaseyour speed. We still have wildlife, bicyclists, pedestriansand tourists using our roads.

In the last week, we have stopped and seized 13 vehicles forseven days for exceeding the posted speed limit by 40 km/hr. Tese speeds have occurred by drivers in the morningtravelling to work and in the early afernoon and evening.

If you are travelling in excess of 40 km/hr, you can becharged for excessive speed with a ne of $368 and points.If in excess of more than 60 km/hr, a ne of $483, pluspoints. In addition to the ne, your car will be seized forseven days (costing you storage and a tow bill). If your

excessive speed leads to a crash, your insurance depend-ng on circumstances can be compromised.
