Son of Sardar, directed by Ashwani Dhir is a complete masala
entertainer. Ajay Devgn works for his friend (Salman Khan)
and uncle in London. One day, he receives a notification from his
hometown (Punjab) that said that he will be inheriting a piece of
land. Ajay goes to Punjab where he meets Sonakshi Sinha. Both
are unaware that the families have a long-standing feud and
gradually fall in love. Sonakshi's uncle played by Sanjay Dutt
hates Ajay because his brother was killed by Ajay's father years
ago. Though he along with his nephews (Mukul Dev, Vindu Dara
Singh) wants to kill Ajay, they are unable to do so. Ajay has entered the bungalow as a guest and
according to their tradition; guest are like gods and have to be treated well.
Khiladi 786MARCH 11
Khiladi 786 marks Akshay's return as 'Khiladi' after more than a
decade. Khiladi 786 borrows the 'Khiladi' brand, but has no
correlation with the 'Khiladi' movies attempted earlier. Khiladi 786 has
a skeletal plot, but is padded with ingredients that are aimed at the hoi
polloi: The lead man bashes up 10/15 goons at one go like we swat mosquitoes,
punches the wall in anger and the wall crumbles, even gulps down a man as if
he we were consuming a soft drink from a straw [yes, you read it right!]. This
is a mere sample of what you gonna see in Khiladi
786. So, be prepared!
On the whole, Khiladi 786 is not for
purists, but for lovers of hardcore masala
films completely. If zany amusement,
wacky humour and over the top enter-
tainers is what you enjoy, this one's for
you. Go, have fun!

After contemplating over it for a long time now,
Priyanka Chopra has finally given a nod to
an item number, the first in her career, for Sanjay
Gupta's gangster flick, 'Shootout At Wadala'. The
item song has been titled Babli Badmaash Hai.
Priyanka Chopra agreed to the item track only
after reviewing it completely. She made sure
that the dance moves are not very sexually pro-
voking and also the lyrics of the track are not
too profane. Reportedly, the song is very vin-
tage style, scored by Anu Malik and sung by
Sunidhi Chauhan, and will be used for promot-
ing the film.
PeeCee was given three numbers to choose
from, off which she picked 'Babli Badmaash
Hai'. Buzz is, the song will see PeeCee doff a
hat to Zeenat Aman in Aap Jaisa Koi and
Parveen Babi in Jeete Hain Shaan Se.
"When PeeCee heard the song, she
thought it was RD Burman meeting Feroz
Khan," said the source. "Glamour yes, but no
vulgarity," added the source. Sanjay Gupta
says the song will have a retro feel.
Most actresses have an unwritten
rule they follow. They refuse to
wear swimwear on the screen. But the
moment Yash Raj Films asks them to
wear a bikini for one of their films, the
rule book gets tossed and they agree.
Maybe because they are assured that
the banner will present them aestheti-
cally, or maybe because no one wants
to risk losing a YRF film by saying no.
YRF has always had a thing for girls
in swimwear. A few decades ago, it
used to be a one-piece swimsuit and
we saw the likes of Sonam (Vijay) and
Juhi Chawla (Darr) don them. In recent
years, it has become almost an unwrit-
ten rule that the leading lady will wear a
bikini in the film. The latest in the line of
beauties to sport the bikini will be Sonam
Kapoor in her next film for the Chopra
production house.

Saif Ali Khan says although his character in
new film Bullet Raja wears nasty clothes,
he will still try to make him look cool in them.
"I think it is one of the most fun things when
you do a role, try and find the look for the char-
acter. So Bullet Raja is kind of like this (points to
stubble) but a little, sort of wears pretty big
and nasty clothes but hopefully we'll make it
look kind of cool. That's the idea, nylon shirts
and white pants and white shoes," the 42-year-
old said during a photo shoot.
Saif believes that to have a certain image
can harm an actor's prospects in the industry
but, nevertheless, it is still important.
"I don't know how important is it for an actor
to have an image because an image can some-
times stereotype you. I think the less you know
about an actor, the better. An actor should just
actually have an image of being a good ac-
tor," Saif said.

Ali Zafar, the young Pakistani actor has
made a mark in B-town with his per-
formance in films like Tere Bin Laden and
Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. And now he is
excited about his forthcoming release
Chashme Baddoor. He's more than thank-
ful for the appreciation he's received -
both from the fraternity and the country.
"Both India and Bollywood are treating
me nicely. It is co-related, after all. I think
because India has accepted me for who I
am, Bollywood is treating me nicely and
because Bollywood has welcomed me
graciously, India is treating me warmly.

As of now, Priya is not in India but
in London, busy studying MBA. She
will stay in London for the next two
years till she is done with her studies.
So marriage is nowhere on cards as
of now. Though it's a long distance
relationship, John and Priya are not
wretched with the fact, as they try to
see each other at least once in two
months.
HEART BEHIND BODYJohn Abraham has taken the trouble to de
fine his views about women. He writes in
an article, "When women look at me they see

- the body, but here's hoping that sometimes,

nother illustrious son of Bollywood star turned poli-
tician Vinod Khanna, Akshaye was born in Bombay
on 28th March, 1975. After graduating from the
eminent KNK Institute of Acting, Akshaye made his
debut with Himalaya Putra-1997along with his
dad and Hema Malini, but this went without
much notice.. However, his very next venture
J.P. Dutta's Border - 97 earned him the presti-
gious Filmfare best debut award (male). His brain wash by his
commander and the gallant ac-
tion in the end of this movie got
big praise from audiences. He
was also nominated for Filmfare
best supporting actor. Then came
Mohabbatein- 97, Kudrat-98,
Lawaris & Dehak - both 99 but all
failed to bring any luck to him. No
doubt, Rishi Kapoor's directorial
debut film Aa Ab Laut Chalein- 99
did average business but
Akshaye's acting was ap-
plauded. The film became a criti-
cal and commercial success in In-
dia and the overseas markets.

Gandhiji's eldest son in the critically acclaimed Gandhi-My Father -
07is unanimously acknowledged as his best performance. Akshaye
also got appreciation for the movie Aakrosh-10.
Akshaye is a staunch disciplinarian and a dedicated performer. The
most non-controversial artist, he believes in cordial relations with his
team and other associates.
He says, a joint effort by the whole team makes the film
successful which is good for everyone. He is an alumni of KNK
Institute and can play serious, comic and villainous roles with ease
and equal command. His lukewarm box-office films are: Shaadi Se
Pehle-06, Aap Ki Khatir-06, Salaam-e-Ishq-07 and Naqaab-07.
In 2010, he starred in Anees Bazmee's No Problem, co-starring
Sanjay Dutt, Anil Kapoor and Kangna Ranaut. Akshaye's later releases
did not fare well at the box office, but his performances in Aakrosh and
Tees Maar Khan-10 were well-received by critics and audiences.

March 14 1965 in
Mumbai in a conser-
vative Muslim
family which has
been part of
Hindi Film In-
dustry for a
long time.
Aamir first came on screen as a child
artist in his Uncle Nasir Hussain's pro-
duction Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973). He
again appeared as a child artist in the
film Madhoshi (1974). Much later he ap-
peared in the art film Holi (1984) along
with his friend and later his director
Ashutosh Gowariker, the f i lm also
starred Naseeruddin Shah.
Subsequently he went on to become the
state tennis champion of Maharashtra. Some-
time before his debut film Aamir fell in love
with a girl in his neighborhood Reena.
Since she belonged to a Hindu family and
he from a devout Muslim family, they faced
opposition and therefore they married se-
cretly.
Later they revealed it to the world after
his debut movie as lead Qayamat Se
Qayamat Tak (QSQT) as a leading man was
released in 1988. The film was a run away
success and he achieved instant
stardom.
Afterwards he signed a
few not so good f i lms
which failed at the box
office. In the year 1990
he delivered the big-
gest grosser of the
year in the form of Dil
and since then he
has not looked back
giv ing several
commercial and
critical hits.
In 2007 he
turned director

only the highest grosser
record but many more.
Aamir is said to be the ac-

crafted handloom
weaves from across

The exhibitions are
an event for your
whole family. It is an opportunity to learn about
the different weaving techniques and the feel
of various varieties of silk. This is a unique
feature of Kay Collections and a small part of
its commitment to bring this aspect of Indian
culture to Australia. The exhibitions also make
a small contribution to preserving the fast dis-
appearing handloom industry.

brings for the first time several masterpieces
that have been carefully reproduced from the
private collections of the Royal households of
Benares from the 16th and 17 centuries.
The exhibition features a diverse collec-
tion of the Benarasi brocade sarees that
have remained an essential part of any
woman's wardrobe over centuries. The bro-
cade silk sarees respond to the play of light
like no other. They dazzle mysteriously dur-
ing mornings and evenings and change their
moods throughout the day. This summer col-
lection also includes sarees in different silk
varieties such as muga from Assam, tussar
and kanjeevaram.
While this exhibition has its main focus
on Benarasi silk sarees, there will also be
sarees that express the heritage of crafts-
men and women from many other parts of
India, that have won national awards. These
include Bandhni tie-and-dye from Bhuj in
Gujarat, Ikat weaving from Orissa, Baluchari
designs from Varanasi, Jamdani weaving
from Bengal and Varanasi, Madhubani hand
painting from Bihar, Chanderi and Maheshwari
sarees from Madhya Pradesh, Chikan embroi-

Delhi based designer Kushma Ram, Di-
rector of Kay Collections, now brings this
unique exhibition of Benarasi silk sarees to
New South Wales and South Aus-
tralia.
The exhibition is an attempt to cap-
ture the subtleties and uniqueness
of the Benarasi traditions expressed
in the hand-woven
sarees from the home
of Indian silk - the
mystical Benares re-
gion. Benarasi tradi-
tions of music, arts, its
deities, the ghats of
the mighty Ganges
and the vibrant festi-
vals have influenced
artisans over the cen-
turies to produce
breathtaking patterns
and colours using a variety of weaves on dif-
ferent types of silk.

How is life at 38 for you?I am in a happy space, proud of myself and
my age. I wouldn't want to be 16 again be-
cause I am much prettier and thinner right now
than I was at 16. As for me the actor, I have a
distinct idea of what I want to do. I would rather
not work than do a bad film. A good script is still
eluding me.
Aren't you being too choosy?I have always been very choosy, but as
you grow older your tolerance for crap be-
comes less. The role I will do today has to
justify the time I take away from my kids and
my husband. I love them, spend a lot of time
with them and love doing things for them. So to
go away for three to six months, I need some-
thing equally powerful.
Your co-stars Salman Khan, Aamir Khan,SRK and Akshay Kumar are still ruling,whereas the girls are fast vanishing. Is thefilm industry biased?
It's got to do with perception, with the kind
of cinema that's produced, than with being bi-
ased. We are not Hollywood, and even if we
are, let's face it, a woman-oriented film even
there will not do the same business as The
Avengers (2012). Pretty Woman (1990) has
not done the same business as Spider-Man
(2002), has it?
So you mean the movie industry acrossthe world is male dominated?
It's not male dominated as much as it is eco-
nomically dominated. It's all about money. Look
at the last five films that went into the R100
crore club. As viewers, we have a certain kind
of idea about what entertains us. And that's
popular cinema, which makes maximum money

Do you feel Ajay is an unsung superstar?I believe everyone is where they ought to
be. If he is unsung today then he wanted it like
this. He has three National Awards. I haven't
heard of any mainstream actor with three Na-
tional Awards. He has been consistently good
in all his movies.
Have you and Shah Rukh Khan ever dis-cussed recreating your famous onscreenmagic?
I haven't met Shah Rukh for a very long time.
But when we meet, we have so many other
things and people to gossip about that our own
agenda gets lost.
What about a film with him?They don't make love stories anymore. I
would love to see a great love story like Dilwale
Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) which stays with

Brands endorsement by celebrities in In-
dia began in the 1980s. Hindi film and TV
stars as well as sportspersons were
roped in to endorse prominent brands. Prob-
ably, the first ad to cash in on star power in a
strategic, long-term, mission statement kind of
way was Lux soap. This brand has, perhaps
as a result of this, been among the top three in
the country for much of its lifetime.
In recent times, there was the Shah Rukh-
Santro campaign with the objective of mitigat-
ing the impediment that an unknown Korean
brand faced in the Indian market. The objective
was to garner faster brand recognition, asso-
ciation and emotional unity with the target
group. Star power in India can be gauged by
the successful endorsement done by
Shahrukh for three honchos - Pepsi,
Clinic All Clear and Santro. Simi-
larly, when S Kumars used
Hrithik Roshan, then the hot-
test advertising icon for
their launch advertising for
Tamarind, they reckoned they
spent 40-50 per cent less on
media due to the sheer impact
of using Hrithik. Ad recall was
as high as 70 per cent, and
even the normally conserva-
tive trade got interested.
In the Indian context, ce-
lebrity endorsements can
aggrandize the overall brand.
A standard example here is
Coke, which, till recently, didn't use stars at
all internationally. In fact, India was a first for
them. The result was a ubiquitously appeal-
ing Aamir cheekily stating Thanda matlab

Hottie Hooda holds the fortT
he smitten Roshni (Aditi Rao Hydari) wastes no time in chucking
up a job in sunny South Africa, in order to move to Mumbai and live
forever in domestic bliss with fashion photographer Vikram
(Randeep Hooda). All is hunky-dory till a long legged lass starts making
up to the lensman. Jealousy strikes.
Tempers flare. Roshni hits upon an in-
novative idea to 'test' her lover. And then
things start to unravel, especially when
a bar hostess (Loren) shows up, with
a shapely, sympathetic shoulder.
The Bhatts have always known how
to steam things up. This third 'Murder',
an official remake of South American
thriller 'The Hidden Face', has all the
Vishesh (Director) ingredients, but
they've been ordered clumsily: just one
mildly spooky moment, and lines that are
fall-down-funny, belying what's meant
to be a tense build-up. Rao Hydari has
shown spark in her earlier films; here
she is buried in bad-make and silliness.
We are left to wonder exactly why
Loren is in the film; at the very least,
she needed a serious voice coach.
It is left to Hottie Hooda to hold the
fort. But there's not much he can do with a plotline like this. He ends up
baring his teeth in an evil grin, his torso as he lowers the ladies onto the
bed, and not much else.

Himmatwala, an action romance film directed by Sajid Khan,
features Ajay Devgan opposite Tamanna in the lead roles. It

name directed by K. Raghavendra Rao starring Jeetendra and Sridevi.
Jeetendra and Akshay Kumar have a special appearance in the film.

I Me Aur Main is the story
of a young man played
by John Abraham who
is a simpleton, and falls
in love with two women,
Prachi Desai and
Chitrangada Singh.
It is a slice-of-life film based
on the decisions of a young
man and his life partner.
Ishaan is a charismatic,
good-looking music producer
from Mumbai. He lives a shel-
tered existence, the apple of
his mother's (Zarina Wahib)
eye, always protected by his
elder sister Shivani (Mini
Mathur) and stays at his girl-
friend Anushka's
(Chitrangda Singh's) house.
He takes them all for granted!
But there comes a day
when his life falls apart like
a house of cards. Fed up of
his flirtatious nature and be-
ing taken for granted, his girl-
friend throws him out of her
house. His ego is severely
damaged and his confidence
shaken.
At this point, his new
neighbour Gauri (Prachi
Desai) comes into his life and
from her he learns the im-
portance of relationships. He
starts taking initiatives to-
wards mending and main-
taining his past relationships.

The 24-year-old Prachi, who plays the ultra-
modern Gauri, is enjoying the fact that she
gets to play her age in this film. "I have always
played somebody older than actually me. I am
so glad that I got this character to play," she
says.
While shooting for a peppy song along with
Chitrangda and John Abraham, Prachi was
spotted shaking her body without any discom-
fort. The bubbly actress has done subdued
roles as in Rock On and Once Upon a Time in
Mumbai. "People kept asking me why don't I do
something different? I was like, 'I can't break
out into a dance
in the middle of
a serious film!'
You need to
stick to the
role which
you are
play-
ing and everything needs to revolve around
that. In the films which I have done, they didn't
give me a chance to be this way," she says.
About John, Prachi says, "He is very charm-
ing; he is a true Parsi boy. He looks after ev-
erybody he works with and is lovely to be
around. He is soft spoken and genuinely nice
to everyone."
Chitrangada says being emotionally satis-
fied in a relationship is extremely important to
her - just as it is for her on-screen character
Anushka.
"Anushka is very similar to me because
even when Kapil Sharma, who is a first-
time director, narrated the script to me,
he also said, 'Think of her (Anushka)
as similar to yourself. I know from
outside you are very composed
and in control'," the 36-year-old
said.
On John, Chitrangada
says, "John is a great
guy and a good human
being. He is hard
working and has
simple values
in life. When he comes on set, there is a very
nice energy."
Chitrangada said though John plays a self-
ish man in the movie, his character is ador-
able." Even though he is a jerk, but he is a very
adorable jerk. He does not know how mean
and selfish he is, and does not realize what he
is doing," she said.

Yash Chopra's statue was unveiled at the
UTV Stars Walk of Fame in Mumbai. Yash
Chopra's wife Pamela and son Uday
Chopra posed with the statue. The mother-
son duo got highly emotional as they spoke a
few words about the late director. Rani Mukerji
and Vaibhavi Merchant were also spotted at
the event, and as they paid respect to Chopra,
they were finding it difficult to control their tears.
Parineeti Chopra looked resplendent in a blue
floor-length anarkali.
Shartughan Sinha and UTV honcho
Siddharth Roy Kapur were seen conversing.
Sinha was also spotted posing with Poonam

The reason behind this moment is the award which Romesh Kalra
has won for his flawless direction in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
An elated Rajan said, "It's a proud moment. After 12 years of direct-
ing in the industry, I opened a production house and named it as
Director's Kut Production. After sharing a long association, Romesh
started to direct shows. It's a proud fact that Yeh Rishta has won 46
awards over the years and this is the first award which we have got
for best direction. It's also an emotional moment for me as it's always
great if a master is known by his student. I had a 15 year old associa-
tion with him and he has proved to be my right hand when I was
setting up the production house.
"Today his assistants are directing shows in the company and
tomorrow I want his assistants to grow like this and win awards. It all
started from Mahesh Bhatt to Ravi Rai then Rajan Shahi to Romesh
Kalra and the legacy continues.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali
Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who has adapted
popular Gujarati novel `Saraswatichandra` into a
serial for Star Plus, said he actually wanted to make a
film based on the subject but later felt television was
a better medium.
Bhansali, who is known for creating dramas on a
wide canvas like ̀ Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam`, ̀ Devdas`,
`Black` and others, has brought the same grandeur
to his debut TV show, his first production for the
small screen. The show is based on the popular
Gujarati novel `Saraswatichandra`, by Govardhanram
Madhavaram Tripathi. It is set in the early 20th cen-
tury and revolves around two Gujarati families.
"We have adapted a different version of the con-
cept for the TV show. Considering the audience`s
taste and today`s times, we have made certain
changes and have retained certain aspects from the
novel," Bhansali said.

soap "Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna
Hai", says she would like to be part
of a reality show.
"I would next like to do some-
thing very different from my sweet
and nice character Jeevika of 'Ek
Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai',"
Krystle said in an interview.
"I want to show the real
me to my audience by doing
something other than the
simple Jeevika. A dance real-
ity show or something like 'Big
Boss' should be my next.
People will be able to see
Krystle, and now a char-
acter," she said.

High voltage dramain Amrit Manthan!Rajan Shahi's Amrit Manthan has taken
a dramatic turn, with new twists and
turns. A very big party sequence is
awaited with high voltage drama. Here
Nimrit's (Ankita Sharma) child will be
slapped by Amrit (Adaa Khan).
Rajan Shahi himself revealed, "For the
first time, the five characters viz. Amrit,
Nimrit, Agam (Navi Bhangu), Tej (Waseem
Mushtaq) and Yug along with the two
children come face to face with each
other at the Siddhivinayak Temple. They
further attend a Valentine Day cum en-
gagement party of a young couple in
Mumbai in which they all come together.
It wil l be interesting to watch who
amongst all come face to face with each
other and who don't. Some dramatic se-
quence will lead Amrit towards slapping
one of the kids of Nimrit."
"For the first time, Mumbai will be in-
troduced to the show where they all will
be coming together. Romance will be high
in the upcoming episodes. The children
have added another element to the show.
The children are going to do what their
adults haven't done. The
best of Amrit is going to
come up," concludes

Mahadev scores a triple century
Producer Nikhil Sinha and Suhana Sinha
threw a bash at Rare Valley Farms in Vasai
to celebrate the successful completion of 300
episodes of Devon Ke Dev, Mahadev which is
No. 1 show on the channel and has created
history of sorts by garnering a huge fan fol-
lowing and appreciation for it.
The barbeque party beating the chill with
warmth of friendship, food and fun let every-
one have a gala time. The cast and crew en-
joyed this fun fil led evening. The young
Ganesha Sadhil Kapoor danced to popular
Bollywood numbers.
Producer Nikhil Sinha and Suhana Sinha,
Mohit Raina, Sonarika Bhadoria, Mouni Roy,
Amit Tandon, Sadhil Kapoor, Jiten Lalwani,
Pankaj Kalra, Charu Asopa, R.K.Dutta were
present at the party.
On this accomplishment Producer Nikhil
Sinha says, "It feels great on turning 300 epi-
sodes old. It's an overwhelming moment. We
are living up to the expectation of the audience
and we will continue making the same effort.

show Welcome: Baazi Mehmaan
Nawaazi Ki will soon visit homes of an-
other five popular television celebrities.
Viewers will get to see Madhura
Naik, Chetan Hansraj, Aanchal
Sabharwal, Rakhi Sawant and
Sangram Singh as guests in the show.
It is reported that Rakhi Sawant
could hardly control her anger at
Aanchal's house and breaks a plate before leaving her
house. This behaviour of Rakhi came after some com-
ments were made against her.
Learning to cookon showAishwarya Sakhuja became fa
mous as the simple and
caring bahu Toasty of "Saas Bina
Sasuraal", and now she is ready
to experiment with all kinds of roles -
even that of a murderer.
"Right now, I am looking forward to do
all kinds of roles. If given a choice, I would
also like to become a murderer or some-
one with a split personality," Aishwarya
said in an interview. Five months after
"Saas Bina Sasuraal" went off air,
Aishwarya currently features in Life
OK's "Welcome: Baazi Mehmaan
Naawazi Ki", an Indian version of Brit-

Mostdramatic

Machu Picchu in Peru is the world's most dramatic ruins. It sits
boldly perched on a steep sided mountain saddle far above the
partially encircling Urubamba River gorge. What remains of the preci-
sion stonework of the pre-Colombian Inca temples and palaces clearly
reveals how exalted Machu Picchu was in its glory days.
Just before the Spanish conquest, Machu Picchu was mysteri-
ously abandoned - and this was when it was still in its golden age.
The conquering Spanish were unaware of Machu Picchu because
its existence was known only by local insiders.
Machu Picchu lay buried under dense mountainous vegetation
until 1911 when Yale University explorer Hiram Bingham discovered
it and began the reclamation process.
Spectacular Iguazu Falls stretches along a 3 kilometre (nearly 2
mile) long rim that is shared by Argentina and Brazil. It thunder-
ously plunges the height of a 24-story building into the Iguazu gorge
below.
The Argentine side has the best and most varied up-close views
of Iguazu Falls while the Brazilian side has the spectacular pan-
oramic view.
Go during the rainy season (normally the rain is heaviest from
around December to February). However, you might encounter cold
and dreary days as well as sightseeing trails that are occasionally closed
due to rain damage.

INGREDIENTS
• Eggs, boiled peeled and slashed 5
• Basmati rice, parboiled 1 1/2 cups
• Ghee 3 tablespoons
• Green cardamoms 5-6
• Cinnamon 1 inch stick
• Black peppercorns 15-20
• Cloves 4-5
• Bay leaves 2
• Onions, finely sliced 2 medium
• Tomatoes, finely chopped 2 medium
• Ginger-garlic paste 1 tablespoon
• Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon
• Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon
• Ginger, cut into thin strips 2 inch piece
• Green chillies, slit 3
• Salt to taste
• Yogurt 1/2 cup
• Deep fried onions 1 cup
• Fresh mint leaves, chopped 50-60 for
garnishing
• Fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped
2 tablespoons
• Juice of 1 lemon
• Green cardamom powder a pinch
• Garam masala powder 1 teaspoon
• For the omelette
• Eggs 2
• Red chilli powder 1/4 teaspoon
• Oil 1 teaspoon
• Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon
• Salt a pinch
METHOD
Heat 2 tbsps ghee in a non stick handi.
Add green cardamoms, cinnamon, black
peppercorns, cloves and bay leaves and
sauté till fragrant. Add onions and sauté till
golden. Add tomatoes, ginger-garlic paste and
sauté till the tomatoes are pulpy.
Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, gin-
ger, green chillies and salt and sauté.Add yo-
gurt, half the fried onion, 25-30 mint leaves, 1
tbsp coriander leaves, lemon juice and eggs.
Add ½ cup water and mix well.
For the omelette, heat oil in a non stick pan.
Break eggs in a bowl, add red chilli powder,
turmeric powder, salt and whisk well. Pour
into the pan, rotate it to spread the mixture
evenly and cook till done.
Spread a layer of rice over the egg curry in
the handi, place the omelette over it, sprinkle
remaining coriander leaves and mint leaves
over it. Spread the remaining deep fried onion
and rice over it.
