Rabies Antibody Testing

• There are two types of rabies antibody titer tests—FAVN-OIE and RFFIT. Only the FAVN-OIE is accepted by all countries.

• Most countries require rabies vaccination at least 30 days before the rabies antibody blood draw.

• The testing must be run at an approved lab.

• Countries change rules often.• Avoid unnecessary quarantine. Hire an

1. The basic 30-day timeline for moving a pet across the U.S. is:

3. Microchip the pet for identification purposes. We recommend 15-digit ISO chips.

4. Update all rabies and other vaccinations.5. Book a veterinary visit to obtain an interstate

pet health certificate. The veterinary appointment for the interstate health certificate must be within 10 days of flight.
