SUMMARY Highly motivated SQL Developer/DBA with experience using SQL Server Management Studio and Visual Studio 2005. Demonstrated leadership abilities and team work skills as well as the ability to accomplish tasks under minimal direction and supervision. Senior Engineer with 26 years of experience in coding and debug of imbedded micro controllers, microcode emulation, hardware simulation, test and debug, and test software development. Working knowledge of C, C++, C#, Tcl, Perl, Basic and assembly programming languages.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Database Management Systems: Microsoft SQL Server 2008

Software: MS SQL Server 2008 Integration Services (SSIS), MS SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services (SSRS), MOSS 2007, Microsoft Office

Tools:SQL Server Management Studio, Microsoft Visio, Database Engine Tuning Advisor, SQL Server Profiler

SetFocus, LLC. Brooklyn Park, MN 1/2010 – 3/2010SQL Master’s Program

• Created numerous simple to complex queries involving self joins, correlated subqueries, CTE’s and XML techniques for diverse business requirements. Tuned and optimized queries by altering database design, analyzing different query options, and indexing strategies.

• As part of a team, analyzed the business requirements and systematically designed a database for an online-movie (DVD/Blu- Ray) rental company. Employed best practices in creating a complete schema including tables, relationships, stored procedures, views, clustered and non-clustered indexes and triggers, and implemented the import and export of data using XML and SSIS.

• As part of a team, created various reports according to the business requirements for the movie rental company. Individually authored, installed, deployed and managed reports using SSRS for a library database.

• Individually designed a bank application according to business requirements, and implemented robust stored procedures, functions, and triggers to implement required functionalities.

• Created an ETL solution that reads Product, Vendor, and Order data from an FTP server into a SQL Server database. The solution also validated incoming data and performs notifications when jobs complete. The order data thus loaded into SQL Server was used to generate reports and charts using the new SSRS 2008 reporting

functionality (Tablix control, new charting features). The reports were set up for automatic delivery based on data-driven report subscriptions.

• Installed MOSS 2007 and configured an intranet portal that contains a wiki and a site template accessible to only authorized groups according to business specifications.

• Implemented numerous backup and recovery plans based on data availability requirements and the potential impact of data loss after considering and analyzing different backup and recovery strategies.

• Designed database maintenance plans to set up core maintenance tasks to make sure that the database performs well, is regularly backed up in case of system failure and is checked for inconsistencies.

• Employed the Database Engine Tuning Advisor to analyze the performance effects of workloads and implemented its recommendations wherever appropriate.

• Utilized tools such as SQL Server Profiler, Activity Monitor, Performance and Reliability Monitor, Data Collector, Policy-Based Management, Resource Governor, Event Notifications to monitor and ensure optimal performance of SQL Server.

• Analyzed different high availability solutions and implemented log shipping, database mirroring and replication.

• Familiar with employing Service Brokers.
