The golf team began as a little known sport but gained notoriety over the years. The North Forsyth Golf Team competes weekly against other schools with all home matches played at Longcreek Golf Club.

The team enjoyed the trips off campus to go to their matches. Sophomores Austin McDonald and Danny Tyler supported this by saying, “It was always fun to be able to leave school early. That was one of my favorite parts.” As with any sport, getting to miss school is one of the many incentives to join.

The team had a great season coming in fourth place in the conference. With a Mid-Piedmont record of 12-18 and an overall record of 16-29, they more than earned their fourth place spot. Individually the golfers excelled as well. Senior Andrew Cody was named an All-Conference player and participated in the 3-A Mideast Regional Competition. Freshman Joseph Shore also competed in the regional competition.

The season ended well, and all the members enjoyed it to the fullest.

It’s the end of the year, which means end of a great season. After a bumpy start, the boys’ tennis team pulled out all the stops and won an entire match against Southeast Guilford. The team’s overall score at the end of the season was 1-7.

The coach of the tennis team was Ms. Zagrodnik. She felt that the season was very good and that it was exciting to win a match. She also had a few heart felt words to the team: “The boys worked hard and came a long way. The team worked well together, and they were all good players. Next year we will have several returning players that will bring the team closer together. I will coach next year, and

I am exciting about it. I really enjoy working with the players.”

These promising players were seniors Logan Brendle and Adrian Torres; juniors Cody Petree, Kyle Watson, and Tyler White; along with sophomores Chris Ehren and Deion Woods. Logan Brendle stands out because he was chosen as North Forsyth’s Athlete of the Year for his outstanding performance on the swim team and tennis team. Kyle Watson, 11th, had a few parting words for next year: “The season was fun. I learned a lot, and I’m looking forward to next season.”
