    Volunteer: Native Nursery in Sonoma: Friday, June 15, 2007

    Volunteers help with plant propagation, transplanting, watering, and other maintenance

    associated with growing native wetland plants. The nursery is managed by the San Pablo BayNational Wildlife Refuge, with support from other groups.     Low Carbon Diet Program with the Green Team Project: Tuesday, June 19, 2007

    Exploring Incentives for New Owners EPA Public Comment Period: Wednesday, June

    20, 2007On May 14, 2007, EPA issued a Federal Register Notice (Enhancing Environmental Outcomesfrom Audit Policy Disclosures through Tailored Incentives for New Owners). EPA is seekingcomments by July 13, 2007, on whether and to what extent the Agency should consider offeringtailored incentives to encourage new owners of regulated entities to discover, disclose, correctand prevent the recurrence of environmental violations. The Agency is considering whetheractively encouraging such disclosures has the potential to increase pollution reductions as aresult of Audit Policy disclosures. New owners may be particularly well-situated and highlymotivated to focus on and invest in, making a clean start for their new facilities by addressingenvironmental compliance.     Klamath Riverkeeper: Development and Outreach Director

    The mission of the Klamath Riverkeeper is to defend, protect and restore the waters of theKlamath River and its watersheds, and to serve as a voice for sustainable use of its resources.The Riverkeeper hopes to make the Klamath fishable and swimable -- the goal of the CleanWater Act -- by focusing on water quality, which is perhaps the most important issue in theKlamath salmon debate. We use community organizing, science outreach, education,commenting, lawsuits, and collaborative campaigns to accomplish these goals. TheDevelopment and Outreach director will work closely with the director on all aspects ofmanaging Klamath Riverkeeper. A successful candidate will work closely the executive director,volunteers and board to create and maintain an active membership, write grants, cultivate majordonors, host events, create and disseminate outreach materials, balance the books, and attendmeetings. The candidate will have to understand, and be able to communicate to the public allthe aspects of the conservation program also.
