On-board eleganceFirst is British Airways’ flagship premium product. BritishAirways was the first commercial airline to introduce a fully-flatbed with its First class cabin in 1996. The current First cabin and product was launched in 2010. First brings together balanced privacy, comfort, space andcontemporary British design. It draws on the airline’s heritage,focusing on quality and attention to detail. First offers unprecedented levels of sophistication, comfort andrefinement, and is an experience entirely centred around yourrelaxation and privacy. The new cabin has a sophisticated and timeless look, bydrawingonthecoloursandfabricsofseniorrankingBritishnavalofficers’ uniforms, known as Naval Barathea. The high quality material is deep blue and almost indiscernibleto black. This is mixed with whites and silvers and accented withreds, giving a modern, understated twist on the Union Flag’s red,white and blue. Taking inspiration from the private jet industry, each customerwill now have their own personal double window with electronicblind, to enhance their ownership of the space and control theamount of light flooding their suite.
