Also called Saint Valentine's Day or the

Feast of Saint Valentine,

Is celebrated annually on February 14. It

originated as a Western Christian feast day

honoring one or two early Christian martyrs

named Saint Valentine and is recognized as

a significant cultural, religious, and com-

mercial celebration of romance and love in

many regions of the world.

Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday, refers to

events of the Carnival celebration, begin-

ning on or after the Christian feasts of

the Epiphany and culminating on the day

before Ash Wednesday, which is known

as Shrove Tuesday. Mardi Gras is French

for "Fat Tuesday", reflecting the practice

of the last night of eating rich, fatty foods

before the ritual Lenten sacrifices and

Wednesday, February 17 , 2021

Ash Wednesday is a holy day of prayer and

fasting. It is preceded by Shrove Tuesday

and falls on the first day of Lent, the six

weeks of penitence before Easter. Ash

Wednesday is traditionally observed by

Western Catholics. It is observed by Cath-

olics in the Roman Rite, Anglicans, Lu-

therans, Methodists, Moravians, and Inde-

pendent Catholics, as well as by many

from the Reformed faith.

Easy Layered Vegetable Bake

1PKG (6OZ) STOVE TOP

STUFFING MIX FOR CHICKEN

5 EGGS , DIVIDED

1-1/2 CUPS KRAFT SHREDDE

CHEDDAR & MONTEEY JACK

CHEESES, DIVIDED

1 ONION, CHOPPED

1PKG. (10OZ) FROZEN

CHOPPED SPINACH THAWED,

DRAINED

1/2 CUP RED PEPER STRIPS

2 TOMATOES, SLICED

Heat oven to 400ºF.

Prepare stuffing as directed on package. Add 1

egg; mix well. Press onto bottom of 9-inch

square baking dish sprayed with cooking

spray; sprinkle with 3/4 cup cheese.

Cook and stir onions in medium nonstick skil-

let sprayed with cooking spray 5 min. or until

tender. Remove from heat; stir in spinach.

Spoon half the spinach mixture over cheese

layer in baking dish; top with peppers. Cover

with layers of remaining cheese and spinach

mixture. Beat remaining eggs; pour over ingre-

dients in baking dish. Top with tomatoes.

Bake 35 to 40 min. or until center is set.
