Graduation 2020 Draft

Virtual Pre-Recorded Ceremony, Saturday, May 30th at 10 AM

o We will pre-record speeches, reading of senior names, pull previous years footage of choir/band performances, etc.

o This pre-recorded 2020 graduation will ensure that all students are recognized for their accomplishment in becoming a JCHS Graduate.

o Each student’s senior photo will be displayed as their names are read symbolizing them crossing the stage.

o The prerecorded ceremony will air on the JCHS YouTube Channel, JCHS Facebook Page, JCHS Website and on local cable channels.

Drive Through Stage Walk Opportunities

Seniors will schedule a date and time that they will be coming through the stage walk with an online survey that will be released on Tuesday, May 12th at Noon through email, Facebook, and our website. Seniors will schedule in one-hour increments of time on each day and should come during their scheduled time.

***Any Student who is unable to attend during the above listed times the graduation stage will remain up from Monday, June 1st – Friday, June 12th for appointments to be scheduled for a

private stage walk. These appointments will need to be between the hours of 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM during those dates. During these private stage walks, senior class sponsors and admin will not be available for names to be read or diploma jackets to be handed out. We will leave all

senior materials out for pickup at the time of your appointment ***

• Guidelines for May 29th, 30th, 31st

o Graduates and their families will enter together on Middle School Road. We will have cars line up by graduate and families. Families should do their best to be together in line with their vehicles. Families are asked to have no more than 2 cars of people to come into the gymnasium. (See Attached Map)

o As they come to the west side of the gymnasium, the student will be able to exit their vehicle with their immediate family and enter the gymnasium to walk across the stage. Gymnasium Doors will be propped open and staff will be utilizing disinfectant on handrails and common surfaces. JCHS Staff Members helping with the ceremony will also be wearing gloves and masks during the event.

o When students enter the gymnasium, they will be asked the correct pronunciation of their name and if they would like their diploma handed to them. Senior Sponsors will then read the names as students walk across the stage. Senior Sponsors will not be on the stage like a normal ceremony. They

will read the names from across the gymnasium on a wireless mic to adhere to social distancing expectations

o Mr. Roller and Mrs. Brown will then either hand the student their diploma jacket or set it on a table for them to pick up depending on the student’s choice.

o Students will then exit the Northwest doors of the gymnasium to collect their senior flower and senior gifts prior to returning to their vehicle. JCHS Guidance Counselors will also be stationed in the area around the Northwest doors to hand the student their senior packet including their diploma. Students are allowed to pull to the front of the school for quick pictures but must follow social distancing guidelines while doing so.

o Only one family will be allowed in the gymnasium at a time. The next family will be staged just outside the Southwest doors of the gymnasium until they can enter the gymnasium.

o Following the Stage Walk students and families can pull to the front parking lot and will be allowed to take family photos in 1 of 4 designated outside photo areas or they can choose 1 of 2 indoor backdrop areas. Students should only choose one area and should remain socially distanced from all other students and families during this time.

o JCHS will have NVPD officers along with staff in the parking lot, gymnasium, and photo areas to help direct families.
