application and integration of safety electrosensitive devices for body detection

    Muting function for palletizer protection

  • The crossing point of the two light beams S1 and S2 shall be located behind the sensing field of the ESPE in direction of the hazardous zone.

t2(s2) t1(S1) = 4 sec. max2 muting sensors crossed beams with concurrent checkingIEC TS 62046

  • Due to an incorrect positioning muting beams S1 and S2 the pallet keeps the safety light grid in Muting condition for a long time. If larger than 200 mm it could create a space sufficient to enter in the dangerous areaIEC TS 620462 muting sensors crossed beams with concurrent checking

  • An object with a diameter of 500 mm must not be able to start the muting function. That gives assurance of a correct distinction between the material and a person.IEC TS 620462 muting sensors crossed beams with concurrent checking

  • The crossing point of the two sensor beams should be positioned at the same level as, or higher than, the lowest beam of the safety barrier in order to avoid easy manipulation of the system and unintentional activation of the muting function.IEC TS 620462 muting sensors crossed beams with concurrent checking

  • The muting sensors shall be installed so close to the safety barrier so that it is difficult to enter the danger zone without being detected by preceding or following immediately the pallet or the transport system (d1 e d3 < 200 mm).

The distance between any 2 muting sensors shall be sufficient so that they cannot be actuated simultaneously by a persons leg (d2 > 250 mm).

All the 4 sensors must to be simultaneously intercepted for at least a small period of time.4 muting sensor with parallel muting beams with entry / exit pallet sequence timing control ( T sensor position)IEC TS 62046

  • An opaque cylindrical object with a diameter of 500 must not be able to activate the muting function.IEC TS 620464 muting sensors with parallel muting beams with entry / exit pallet sequence timing control ( T sensor position)

  • JANUS ML / MT THE REASONS FOR SUCCESS

    Safety and Responsibility

    Thanks to:

Built-in Muting Photocells with crossed or parallel beams always correctly positioned and in compliance Safety requirements (IEC TS 62046) met in order to recognize the material and distinguish between an object and a person.

Built-in Muting Photocells protect against the end-user manipulating the position of the beams which could lead to a dangerous condition. Reduces risk for the Machine Manufacturer and the End User and meets safety requirements.

  • JANUS ML / MTTHE REASONS FOR SUCCESS

    Safety and Responsibility

With the ML / ML TRX and MT / MT TRX models, compliance with the safety requirements -IEC TS 62046- regarding the geometry of the muting sensors and all the other safety parameters is automatically guaranteed with built in sensors.

  • Janus M Series Light Barrier, Safety Innovation For Material Handling The Janus M series range of light barriers forPalletizing, ,Machine Conveying, wrapping, loading, robotic applicationsetc...Wheremuting is integralto the flow of material. Features:Two safestatic outputs can work without external control units having all the safety functions integrated inside the Emitter and the Receiver. Thiscompliesharmoniously with the requirements of theStandard EN 61496-1,the International Standard IEC 61496-1-2 and CSA Z432-04 - Safeguarding of Machinery.Extremely easy connection and installation, thanks to the M12 5-pole (emitter) and M23 19-pole (receiver) standard connectors. Use of standard cables up to 100 m long. No need for shielded cables. Settings of each function are integrally performed via the connector. Patented solutions allow the installer to perform a wide range of user friendly configurable functions with only a few connector pins.No need for software or dip-switch settings on the light curtain for the configuration! The end user can replace a product without the possibility of errors or the necessity of a skilled operator! Integration of the main safety functions, including self-monitoring of the safety circuits and, the external device monitoring (EDM) and the Start / Restart interlock functions. Integration of the Muting function and of the Muting sensors (ML and MT models). All Muting parameters settings (Muting timeout, override, etc.), via the receiver connectorand/or the MJB connection boxes.
