Allan Elks News:

Special holiday greetings everybody. I hope you had a great holiday season, filled with memories and joy, and

time spent with your friends and family. I hope your plates were full of turkey, glasses filled with grape juice

(remember, it is a family newsletter), and I hope Santa found his way to your house.

Your Allan Elks were really busy this past month with Christmas preparation, starting with the Toy Bingo. It

was a great success with 44 people in attendance. All prizes donated were used for the 10 games, and we

would like to thank our sponsors; PCS Allan, Apex Trampoline, Allan Knights of Columbus, Al Andersons

Source for Sports, SaskTel, Mosaic Colonsay, Admore Co-op, Affinity Credit Union, TD Allan, Saskatoon Co

-op in Colonsay, SIGA, Ramada Golf Dome, Sandi and Wade Gould, and Bobby and Tamara Gould. Following

the toy bingo, the next day, we had our Kids Movie Day. The proceeds from the toy bingo were used to

fund this day. The movie we watched was 'Minions' and it was followed by a visit from Santa Claus. We had

15 kids in attendance. The winner of the movie was Emma Gould. The following Friday was our Turkey and

Orange Bingo. All 3 events were paired up with the Allan Food Bank, to help make sure everybody got a

great meal this Christmas. And with the donations brought, it is wonderful to see how generous our great community of Allan really is.

Now it is time to look towards our New Years resolutions for 2016. Your Allan Elks have made this resolu-

tion to take us into the new year: To continue to be a Canadian volunteer group for men and women, work-

ing together to make life sweeter, people better, and our community happier, and to help improve our com-

munity in any way that there is a need.

One of our ways of doing this is by continuing to work with Access Communications Children's Fund by sell-

ing their TV bingo cards, and by hosting a TV bingo on the last Saturday of every month at the Elks Hall. If,

on one of these weekends at our hall, we sell 50 cards or more, Access Communications will make a $200

donation towards the new sound system for the Allan School Gym. So, for $10 you could win one of those

big bingo pots from $200 to $3000 and you are also helping school get the new sound system for the gym.

The next Access Bingo being played at the Elks hall is January 30th at 5. Be early to get your cards.

We will be hosting a New Year's Eve supper and a traditional country music show, featuring the talents of

Alma Sibley. The supper starts at 5:30pm, with the show to follow after. Tickets are $20. Contact Tamara at

291-7411 for tickets and more details.

We are also, with the success of our Charity Ball in November, in the process of getting a Caroline's cart

placed in a business where there is a need for one of these carts in our area. I look forward to reporting to

you about that and the many other great things your Elks lodge are looking to do, to help our great commu-

nity, province, and country.

Keep watching our Facebook page 'Elks of Allan #546', as well as your monthly newsletter, for more great

upcoming events at your Allan Elks hall.

And, I would like to close with a big thank you, to you, the community of Allan, for your support of what we

do. The Elks of Canada, the SaskElks, and your home lodge, do many great things for our, and neighbouring,

communities, but none of it is possible without your support. I look forward to seeing all of you in 2016, and

for many more years to come, as we continue to help you, our community, to continue to grow, and im-

prove, year by year.

On behalf of your Allan Elks, have a wonderful, and prosperous, new year.
