Allan Museum Happenings: Happy New Year everyone! The Museum Board is looking forward to another year of planning activities and events, collecting display items and educating our visi-tors at the Museum with our new selected themes! We are also really excited to have been awarded the travelling display of elevator photographs from around Saskatchewan this June! This will surely be a unique display that everyone will enjoy. Here is a quick reminder of our themes and items we are in need of for 2015: 1) A display about railways, trains and elevators – this could include CN and CP lines, history of the Canadian Wheat Board, elevators in Allan & surrounding areas, railways ties, tools and toy trains. We are also gathering information on Communications including telegraph, tele-phone, post office and newspapers. A display unit for the elevator photos is also needed! 2) In the Kitchen – display of dinnerware sets (cup/saucer/plate/sandwich plates/soup bowls) 3) Old fashioned living room – sofa, armchair, rocking chairs, antimacassars, small tables, old clocks. 4) Small bedroom – chamber pot, old clothes, bedding, dresser scarves, lamps. If you are able to lend us items for any of these displays or if you are interested in joining the Children’s Hour at the Museum, Collections and Display, Communications, Culture Day, Fundraising or the New Building Committee please contact Karsten or Shirley, 257-3511, Clara, 257-3634, Dolores, 257-3531 or Vanessa, 257-3272. What are these objects?

Good luck with guessing ‘What are these Objects?’ this year! What is Object #4? (A larger image can be viewed on the Allan Community Heritage Soci-ety & Museum’s Facebook Page!)

Object #3 in December’s Newsletter was Flint (battery operated). Pull out the top and the point is hot enough to light a cigarette! Did you guess right?

TOPS SK #1739 Allan TOPS is a nonprofit weight-loss support club. TOPS is an acronym for "Take Off Pounds Sensibly". Meetings are held every Monday at 4:30 pm in the basement of the Allan Baptist Church. For more info, please call Bernie (4397) or Kathy (3338).
