Motivation

0 I first heard about this class through a friend who was taking the class. She told me that the class was easy and online. Because I needed to be a full-time student, I decided to take this class which was a lot easier to manage since it was an online class. Also, I wanted to learn about different techniques of learning on my technologies.

Thoughts about Learning Preference

0Continue to test my learning with visual learning. Teach myself to be a better verbal learner.

0 I’ve learned to use certain technologies for different learning styles. (ie. Using multimedia to help my visual learning or making flashcards to help me with repetitive learning)

0 It has made me become more aware of what type of learn I am and what I can do to comprehend each subject better.

Learning Pathway

0Learning Warrior0 I chose this pathway because I wanted to learn about

each technology in a deeper sense rather than a borad view of everything.

0 I wanted to especially learn about the technologies that I already own so that I could use them more effectively.

Activities for Pathway

0 A lot of these activities gave me little hints about what each technology can do and what they’re used for. For instance, I didn’t know that blogs could be used for a lot of learning. I thought people mainly just posted their thoughts on there or pictures that they like. There are some activities that didn’t help me a lot. I wanted to learn more about what I can use my phone for when it comes to learning, but I can always explore later on. I guess it just didn’t go into as much depth as I expected. But it did raise my interest in wanting to learn more so I will definitely do more research after this class.

TOP 3 Technologies

0 iPod/mp3: I learned that I can listen to audio files that can be found on itunes. There are many lectures on there that I can use to learn from. I can also make flashcards on an app that could help me study for exams.

0 iPad/Tablet: It’s pretty similar to the iPods/mp3s. The apps offered are pretty close to one another. I can basically use it in the same fashion. There are just a few more benefits that come with it. I can use it like a smaller laptop.

0 Multimedia: I didn’t understand it in the beginning. I thought multimedia was just videos that I could watch and learn from but there are interactive multimedias that are really fun to use and learn from.

Synthesize Experiences with Technologies

0 iPhone: I used my iPhone to create flashcards and that helped me with memorizing key terms and information for classes. It worked on repetition.

0 iPad/tablet: I used this to take notes in class. It helps me organize my notes and insert drawings if needed or diagrams. I could also add notes to the lecture slides in class.

0Multimedia: I looked up different types of multimedia that would help me with my classes such as videos explaining some chemistry problems or phsyics problems.

Synthesize Knowledge of Physiological Factors

0 I have managed to try to work on my diet and exercise during the semester for this class. I noticed that I had more energy in me to continue on with my day when I ate right and exercised. I don’t always have the time to do everything so when I could, I did. I wish I had time to manage sleep into my schedule but that didn’t work out too well. Since the technologies that I learned about helped make studying a little easier, it allowed me to have some extra time to exercise. It helps make studying a little easier.

After this Semester

0 I plan to use the technologies that I learned about this semester in my future classes because I think it could help me study a lot faster. I can make flashcards to study. I can also download PowerPoint and notes before class to help me. I can also carry around an electronic book which I can refer to if I need it while in class or working on assignments.

Experience as a Learning Warrior

0 In the beginning, I felt like it would be a lot of work. I chose to become a learning warrior because I wanted to study more about the technologies I have in depth. It was a lot of work as a learning warrior. I didn’t actually look at the requirements for the other pathways, but it seems like they have a lot of work to. I thought I chose the right pathway for me because it has helped me learn a lot. It has helped me understand where I can easily pass on the information to some of my friends who are interested in learning about their technology too. Even thought it was a lot or work, it was still very interesting to learn about.
