The Jammu and KashmirGovernment has evacuatedabout 1,56,466 JK resi-dents, stranded in otherparts of the country due toCOVID lockdown, viaLakhanpur and throughspecial trains and buses tilldate amid strict observanceof all necessary guidelinesand Standard OperatingProcedures.
As per the official data re-ceived in this regard, theJammu and Kashmir ad-ministration has received61 special trains at Jammuand Udhampur railway sta-tions from different statesand UTs, so far, with about49,151 passengers while
about 1,07,315 personsfrom other states and UTsincluding 328 from abroadhave been evacuated by thegovernment throughLakhanpur till date.
Therefore, a total ofabout 1,56,466 J&K resi-dents stranded outsidehave been brought back tothe UT by the Jammu andKashmir government by 61special trains and a fleet ofbuses through Lakhanpurafter strictly observing allnecessary preventive mea-sures regarding the Virus.
As per the detailedbreakup of the figures,about 1114 stranded pas-sengers have enteredthrough Lakhanpur fromJune 21 to June 22 morn-ings while 818 passengershave reached today in the
40th Delhi COVID specialtrain at Jammu. So far, 40trains have reachedJammu with a total of33,455 stranded passen-
gers belonging to differentdistricts while 15,696 pas-sengers have reached Ud-hampur in 21 special trains,so far.

SRINAGAR, 22 JUNE:Congratulating the officersand Jawans of SOG Srina-gar of J&K Police and CRPFvalley QAT for conducting aclean and successful opera-tion in a very congested anddensely populated areaZadibal Srinagar yesterday,the Director General of Po-lice J&K Shri Dilbag Singhlauded the synergy and un-derstanding between theforces in Jammu and Kash-mir. DGP also visits Kulgamdistrict where he chairs of-ficers meeting to review se-curity scenarios and law &order situations.
He was interacting withthe officers and jawans ofJammu and Kashmir Policeand CRPF at Police GolfCourse Srinagar who partic-ipated and successfully neu-tralized three terrorists whowere involved in the attackof BSF party in Pandacharea of Hazratbal on20.05.2020 in which twoBSF Jawans attained mar-tyrdom and terrorists man-aged to decamp with theservice weapons of the BSFJawans. The terrorists in-volved were successfullyeliminated and the weaponof the martyr BSF jawanswas recovered from theirpossession in the encounteryesterday.

He said that the synergyand understanding betweenthe different forces espe-
cially Police and CRPF haveyielded good results a num-ber of times and added thatin future too the success willbe ours. He said that thehandling of law & orderduring the operation andpost operation is praisewor-thy and commended the of-ficers of Police and CRPFfor that.
The DGP said that duringoperation restraining emo-tions and actions is verychallenging but the forceson ground in Jammu &Kashmir have shown exem-plary control on their ac-tions many times in thepast. He said that in this op-eration too, the officers havetaken every chance to makethe terrorist surrender. Hesaid that repeated appealswere made by the Police,family members and com-munity members to the ter-rorists to surrender andshun the path of violence.
The DGP said that ourcommitment is to provide apeaceful atmosphere for thepeople of J&K, and addedthat youth of Jammu andKashmir lured by the Pak-istan sponsored terror out-
fits and their supportershave always been given anopportunity to shun thepath of violence and live apeaceful life with their lovedones.
The DGP exhorted uponthe officers and Jawans tobe extra vigilant and carefulas the elements inimical topeace and the terrorist han-dlers across the border areanxious to disturb the peaceand order in the Union Ter-ritory. He stressed on thenecessity to keep Srinagarcity free from the terrorismand also emphasized towork on the networks asso-ciated with terror modulesoperating in other regionsof Kashmir having linkagesto Srinagar.
The DGP announced anddistributed rewards amongthe jawans of J&K Policeand CRPF valley QAT fortheir exemplary perfor-mance and professionalism.He further emphasized andinstructed the men and of-ficers to adhere to SOPs is-sued from time to time,while handling law and or-der and on countering ter-rorism.

“It is time for the Admin-istration to deliver justice tothe youth and their familieswhich have been subjectedtheir families to lot manysufferings”, Mr Gupta saidin a statement, adding thatevery segment of workersengaged on daily rate basisand employees on the ad-
hoc arrangement in acade-mic in higher education arecraving for justice fordecades now.
Mr Gupta expressed con-cern and anguish over thecareers of thousands gettingjeopradised with many ofthem having put in 15 to 20years and having suffered alot.
He said the workers andLecturers/demonstratorsworking on academicarrangement basis in vari-ous Government Polytech-nics in Technical EducationDepartment for the past 20years, Jammu MunicipalCorporation, TechnicalTrained Workers underSLRM, Academic Arrange-ment, Need Based ITI, NonITI Workers Union and oth-ers have been knockingevery door for justice butthe administration is show-
ing sadistic apathy to theirplight. Many lecturers anddemonstrators working onacademic arrangementhave highest qualificationsin respective fields but werestill suffering due to admin-istrative inaction, he added.
Mr Gupta questioned thelogic in lingering on the is-sue of regularization despitea policy decision taken inthis regard by the NationalConference governmentseven years ago, and soughtthis to be implemented onhumanitarian grounds. Hesaid the families of all thesecategories of workers havevirtually come on the roadsdue to delay in salaries andarrears pending for years.
He said the NationalConference has all alongbeen pleading the cause ofthese workers at every fo-rum.

Prof. Singh hadjoined (on Deputation) inthe Department of MCNM,CUJ in the year 2016 andbecame Head of the Depart-ment.
Under his tenure as Head,
the Department of MCNMhad taken long strides in thefield of academics, researchwork, research projects, ingiving practical exposure tothe students about journal-ism industry and field stud-ies. Due to his excellent or-ganizational skills, Prof.Govind Singh was givenseveral important academicduties such as making himDean of Schools besidesother responsibilities.Given his calm and cool na-ture he was much belovedamong students as well asfaculty members.
In view of his academicexcellence and his contribu-tion to the growth of the de-partment, the administra-tion of Central Universityhad appointed him as per-manent Professor in the de-partment in December2019. But after only sevenmonths of permanent regu-larization as professor, Prof.Govind Singh decided toleave the University.

Divisional Commis-sioner, Sanjeev Verma to-day chaired a meeting ofDeputy Commissioners ofborder districts to reviewthe progress on construc-tion of individual and com-munity bunkers along theborder in Jammu division.
The meeting was at-tended by Deputy DirectorPlanning, Chief PlanningOfficer, Jammu, besides ex-ecutive engineers of execut-ing agencies while DeputyCommissioners, Kathua,Samba, Rajouri, Poonchalong with concerned offi-cers attended the meetingthrough video conferenc-ing.
The Deputy Commission-ers apprised the Div Comabout the progress of workson under construction indi-vidual and communitybunkers in their respectivedistricts. It was informedthat work is in progress on
bunkers in the districts.It was informed that a to-
tal of 6919 bunkers havebeen completed so far in thedivision, including 6123 in-dividual bunkers and 796community bunkers. It wasalso informed that 9905bunkers are under execu-tion and are at differentstages of construction.
It was informed that 1430bunkers including commu-nity and individual bunkers
have been completed in dis-trict samba, 1058 in districtJammu, 1324 in districtKathua, 2316 in district Ra-jouri and 791 in districtPoonch. They further in-formed that remainingbunkers are also under dif-ferent stages of construc-tion. The concerned officersinformed about the numberof bunkers at foundationlevel, superstructure level,and slab level.
The Div Com directed theDCs to monitor the con-struction of bunkers andalso directed the executingagencies to expedite thepace of work and adhere tothe fixed timelines for com-pletion of construction ofindividual and communitybunkers. He also asked theDCs to set weekly, monthlytargets for completion ofwork on bunkers and sharecompletion plans.
