Student Spotlight Majoring in FS has been my best decision in college. I have met amazing friends, gained great knowledge and experience, and worked with some of the best professors Central has to offer. Thanks to the opportunities provided by the Family Studies department, I have expanded my professional network, and am so excited to work in the field. If you love fun, families, and relationships, FS is the major for you! -- Brittany Stamnes, Senior FS student This past April over 20 students travelled to Portland, Oregon to attend the Northwest Council on Family Relations. Many individuals had the chance to present their research and network with professionals and other students from the northwest region. Here’s one student’s experience… “This year’s NWCFR conference was amazing.... The talk that Tony Biglan gave called “Nurturing all the Families in our Communities” was really helpful for me because I was able to apply it to my work in helping develop the Mother 2 Mother program for the FRC.
