SUMMARY of the IS RESEARCHES

European, American, Turkish and Arabian medias have their own perspectives.

Firstly, American and European medias’ fears and annoyances are almost the same. Events are generally taken as ideological, and of course some news papers have an Islamafobic perspective (especially after ‘11 September’)

They are thinking like ‘’Who support this terrorist groups, who are the leaders, how they exist, where and when they exist and how we can destroy them’’.

But, the most important thing is ‘Why they exist’.

For example, we know ‘How, when and where Al-Qaeda existed, who was the leader, who supported this group’ but the most important thing is;

- ‘’Why Al-Qaeda existed, why Afghan puplic (who is under the pressure of America) supported this group, and why this group firstly against the USSR and after that USA.’’

This event really simillar with the ‘IS stituation’. After USA’s invasion of Iraq, confusion in Iraq and Shiite government’s some decisions (which excluded the Sunni public, and some armed Sunni groups), caused of this terrorist groups, and than IS.

Secondly, Arabian newspapers, like Al-Jazeera, closer this area more than American and European medias. They can easily understand this stituations, and find solutions.

They can go to war region easily because they are Arabic, they don’t attract the attention of the Islamic State warriors more than Americans or Europeans.

But, as everyone knows, the most important economic and strategic ally of Suudi Arabians, is USA. So they can never write against the USA but they just can write the solutions.

Finally, Turkish media has so many differences. Turkey has a lot of religious, politic and economic perspectives. Because Turkey has a huge population and different nations and different religions.

Of course everyone accept that IS is a terrorist group. But the most important issue is ‘Who does IS fight with’. According to some nationalist newspapers, IS is fighting with PKK/YPG (terrorist groups in Turkey). And our government is teaching the Pesmerges (Kurdish soldiers in Iraq and Syria and they are working with YPG to fight with IS), and that’s really dangerous for Turkey.

According to some newspapers, IS is a really big threat for Turkey and Turkey has to try everything to defeat IS. After defeating IS Turkey can have a big ally (Iraq’s and Syria’s new governments) and Turkey should teach the Pesmerges, how to fight.

It is so normal having a perspective and thinking the State’s benefits. But the newspaper has to serve the truths to the public.
