Introduction into the work by I. Dahlberg and bibliography of some 2250 citations with a great number of annotations. lt covers in Pt. l the universal classification systems, subject headings lists and thesauri of the years 1950-1982 including all editions of UDC, DDC, LCC, Bliss, Colon and the Russian LB C Classification. Pt. 2 lists special subject classification systems and thesauri in systematic arrangement accorcling to the subject groups and fields of the new ICC (Information Goding Classification). There are personal and corporate author indexes as well as a subject index and correlation tables between UDC and ICC and vice versa. Country and language codes are provided as well as a list of abbreviations used.

Annex 6: Language Codes
The two-letter language codes listed are a selection of a preparatory list for the German standard on language codes ( DIN 2335) which has just now (Aug. 1982) appeared as a published draft. The ISO-Recommendation ISO/R 639-1967 ("Symbols for languages, countries and authorities") is still under revision. The codes actually used in the bibliography are a selection of the ones in line, the changes (in brackets) are those codes that deviate from the first list.
